SOMETHING’S OFF WITH ERIKA, ONLY FANS LAWSUIT, MORE MASS SHOOTINGS, NASCAR DRIVER PLANE CRASH

00:00:00.080 Good morning.
00:00:01.199 >> Good morning. [laughter]
00:00:03.760 >> So, we got a lot to go over today.
00:00:05.520 >> Yes. Jam-packed.
00:00:07.520 >> So, we’ve got we’ve got a law firm
00:00:10.559 involved in the Only Fans lawsuit
00:00:12.719 getting fined for AI involvement.
00:00:15.679 >> Tempting. Tempting.
00:00:17.039 >> We’ve got Abbott Labs uh demanding
00:00:22.560 immunity for uh issues with their baby
00:00:27.039 formula.
00:00:28.560 We’ve got Dan.
00:00:29.279 >> Well, it’s killing babies.
00:00:31.039 >> Got Dan Bonino leaving the FBI.
00:00:34.239 >> I love Dan.
00:00:36.160 >> There’s been some mass shootings lately.
00:00:38.879 >> Horrible.
00:00:39.600 >> And then a tragedy
00:00:42.160 in the NASCAR world with uh Greg Biffle
00:00:45.600 and his family dying in a private plane
00:00:47.680 crash.
00:00:48.399 >> Horrible.
00:00:49.120 >> Lot to talk about.
00:00:50.640 >> Yes. Let’s get into it. But first, I
00:00:53.600 have to mention Afest is going on. And
00:00:56.000 I’m not sad I’m not there.
00:00:58.079 And what’s funky about it is every every
00:01:03.760 bone in my body, every other year or
00:01:05.920 every other I don’t know
00:01:09.439 time would have wanted to be at
00:01:11.920 something like that.
00:01:12.720 >> So wait, back up for a second because I
00:01:14.799 don’t know that everybody knows what
00:01:16.080 Afest is. I certainly didn’t a few years
00:01:17.920 ago.
00:01:18.159 >> Okay. Would you explain to everyone what
00:01:19.280 Amfest is?
00:01:20.159 >> It’s it’s the the Turning Point USA
00:01:22.560 Charlie Kirk’s organization that he
00:01:25.040 founded. Correct. This is their big
00:01:26.640 annual what convention.
00:01:29.119 >> Uhuh.
00:01:30.159 >> You’ve been?
00:01:31.119 >> Yes.
00:01:32.159 >> Couple of years ago.
00:01:33.200 >> Yes.
00:01:33.600 >> How was it?
00:01:34.320 >> It was great. I mean, I’m a, you know,
00:01:37.040 being a patriot and getting in there and
00:01:40.000 meeting all the people and I met uh
00:01:42.320 Trump’s photographer and I met the one
00:01:46.000 Jewish guy that helped Trump when he was
00:01:48.880 sick. He was a doctor. Unfortunately, he
00:01:50.479 passed away since then. I mean, I was
00:01:52.720 there. I was in the middle of it. My
00:01:54.320 friend was getting texts from Laura
00:01:56.000 Trump like he knew he know you guys have
00:01:58.320 seen that’s Bob. Bob is you know Bob’s
00:02:00.399 been on the podcast and it was great. It
00:02:02.799 was like this you feel like you’re part
00:02:04.560 of something bigger than yourself and
00:02:06.479 you have this great amazing feeling
00:02:08.959 about it. And you know I voted for Trump
00:02:11.840 three times. I was one of the ones that
00:02:14.000 supported him from the beginning even
00:02:15.440 though everyone thought I was crazy and
00:02:17.040 they’re like how dare you? I’m from
00:02:18.480 Chicago. You got a lot of liberals out
00:02:20.160 there and
00:02:22.560 you know I’m having a hard time with the
00:02:26.080 whole
00:02:27.680 TPUSA thing. I’m just I just am I feel
00:02:31.200 bad saying that. Like every part of me
00:02:33.040 goes, "Okay, she’s a widow. They’re
00:02:35.200 mourning the death of this beautiful
00:02:38.480 individual that started TPUSA, Charlie
00:02:41.040 Kirk. I love Charlie. I listen to him
00:02:43.360 all the time. I see in my memories on
00:02:45.360 Facebook. I shared a lot of TPUSA stuff.
00:02:48.560 Fully conservative.
00:02:51.280 I’m not feeling
00:02:53.680 good about
00:02:55.760 this change. Like the fireworks and and
00:02:59.360 Erica walking up and talking about this
00:03:01.280 is what Charlie would want and just I am
00:03:04.239 icked out.
00:03:05.840 >> Why? Why?
00:03:07.280 >> You know, we struggle with our brains,
00:03:09.599 right? Like no, at least I do. Brain and
00:03:12.000 intuition, right? I don’t know. And my
00:03:15.360 brain says, "Megan, shut up. Shut up.
00:03:18.480 You’re a business owner in the Phoenix
00:03:19.920 area. TPS USA is in Phoenix. Erica’s in
00:03:22.159 Phoenix. My makeup, you know, all these
00:03:24.000 people are connected. Why don’t you just
00:03:25.840 shut up and support this?" Because if by
00:03:28.800 you supporting it, you’ll get more
00:03:30.000 people to watch your podcast and you’re
00:03:31.840 part of the group and you’re that’s how
00:03:33.760 that all gets started. I think that’s
00:03:36.159 what how all these people end up like
00:03:41.360 Tucker Carlson’s Christmas party. You
00:03:43.920 know, a guy mentioned yesterday he was
00:03:45.440 there on one of another podcast and he
00:03:47.920 said, you know, you had Candace there,
00:03:49.360 you had uh Marjorie Taylor Green, you
00:03:52.560 had TPUSA, Candace Owens, and people
00:03:56.000 that have been arguing
00:03:58.239 on social media and on the news
00:04:02.000 offering a drink to this person, hanging
00:04:04.239 out. Okay. So, wait. So, back up for a
00:04:06.239 second. So, you’re saying that there
00:04:07.680 were these people who had been outwardly
00:04:11.439 very opposed and very vocal opposition
00:04:14.879 to each other.
00:04:16.000 >> Yes.
00:04:17.358 >> And
00:04:17.759 >> but see, I can see how that is because
00:04:19.440 here we are getting on the show and I’m
00:04:21.440 like, should I even say that I don’t
00:04:23.520 want to be at TPUSA? And you’re like,
00:04:25.360 yes, you should just say how you feel.
00:04:26.880 And it’s hard because you know, hey,
00:04:29.199 you’ve got a podcast. You want people to
00:04:30.960 listen to it. And you know, when you’re
00:04:32.960 in that middle ground almost like
00:04:36.560 where you’re not fully to the right or
00:04:39.360 you’re not fully to the left and you’re
00:04:40.960 kind of like in this murky weird water,
00:04:44.720 you almost feel like, well, you’re going
00:04:47.280 to get judged. I mean, I did. I was
00:04:48.880 getting judged the other day from um
00:04:52.000 conservatives because I didn’t like what
00:04:53.440 Trump said about Rob Reiner. And I know
00:04:55.360 I’ve heard it a million times. You don’t
00:04:57.199 have to be, you know, Rob Reiner was a
00:04:59.040 jerk. Rob Reiner did this and he, you
00:05:01.040 know, he threatened Trump’s life. He
00:05:02.880 couldn’t care less when he got shot.
00:05:04.080 Blah blah blah. I get it. But you still
00:05:06.080 don’t do that as a president of the
00:05:07.520 United States in my personal opinion.
00:05:09.520 You don’t you don’t speak that way.
00:05:10.800 >> Well, he was he was very very vocal and
00:05:14.240 very nasty about Trump, right?
00:05:17.120 >> Yes. Oops, I just hit my chin on the
00:05:20.080 microphone.
00:05:20.720 >> And there are a lot of people that that
00:05:23.280 he ticked off about that. There were a
00:05:25.680 lot of people who when Trump was uh
00:05:29.199 almost assassinated
00:05:31.440 came out and they were cheering and they
00:05:33.440 were saying we wish that the the shooter
00:05:35.520 got him. I mean what about those people?
00:05:39.120 What about those people? I mean if you
00:05:43.120 if you and I get it everyone’s like you
00:05:45.360 should understand Trump’s a trutht
00:05:46.880 teller. What does truth have to do with
00:05:48.880 having decency? You know what does truth
00:05:51.600 have to do with you can think it. You’re
00:05:54.240 not. But you know if
00:05:58.240 two wrongs don’t make a right. Didn’t we
00:05:59.840 learn that in kindergarten?
00:06:01.039 >> Yeah. But you always say and you’re like
00:06:02.720 this. You always say
00:06:05.039 good or bad, people always know where
00:06:07.840 you stand. Good or bad, people always
00:06:09.680 know where Trump stands. He’s not hiding
00:06:12.000 anything like that.
00:06:12.880 >> But nobody needed to know that he needed
00:06:15.360 to remind everybody where Rob Reiner
00:06:17.840 stood. And by him stepping above that
00:06:21.440 and just saying, "Oh, this was a
00:06:23.280 tragedy." A, it was a tragedy. It’s a
00:06:26.080 It’s a tragic situation when your son
00:06:28.479 murders you. That’s tragic. I don’t care
00:06:31.199 who you are.
00:06:31.919 >> Yeah,
00:06:32.479 >> that’s tragic.
00:06:34.240 >> Either don’t say anything at all or say,
00:06:36.720 "Hey, this was a tragic thing that I
00:06:38.720 hate seeing in America cuz you’re the
00:06:41.759 president. I don’t endorse anyone
00:06:44.000 murdering anyone." Okay? Don’t be the
00:06:46.800 judge and jury. And people can look back
00:06:49.039 and go, you know what? Wow. He took he
00:06:51.199 took the high road with that. We know.
00:06:53.600 People know that are involved in that
00:06:57.759 what Rob Reiner said and did.
00:07:00.000 >> So, I guess what you’re really saying is
00:07:03.360 when Trump’s posting those things,
00:07:06.880 he needs to recognize it’s not Donald
00:07:10.560 Trump, the person that’s that’s saying
00:07:12.880 it. It’s the president of the United
00:07:14.639 States. It’s the office correct that’s
00:07:16.720 saying it.
00:07:17.440 >> Correct. And he’s already been elected.
00:07:19.199 The people that elected him. Um I know a
00:07:22.960 lot that are friends with me did not
00:07:24.720 agree with what he had said. And so you
00:07:27.919 just you feel like you have to have a
00:07:30.960 classiness
00:07:32.479 at least with death. I mean we get it.
00:07:34.880 You get it. Trump is out there. He’s
00:07:37.120 he’s saying, you know, he said a lot of
00:07:40.000 awful things about different people
00:07:41.680 that, you know, a lot of us felt they
00:07:44.000 deserved. Not when it comes to death.
00:07:46.720 You just don’t do that. You take the
00:07:48.000 high road.
00:07:48.720 >> Yeah. And and you know what? I I I
00:07:50.960 actually I I do agree with you about
00:07:52.960 this. I think that there’s a time and a
00:07:54.720 place for for things. And I think that’s
00:07:56.800 a time for him to rise above that. Um
00:07:59.440 and and put his his feelings aside about
00:08:02.479 that personally.
00:08:04.479 And what I thought about was
00:08:08.720 when Trump found out that Ruth Bader
00:08:11.199 Ginsburgg had died and you could tell he
00:08:15.280 was confronted with it and it was the
00:08:16.800 first time he heard it and the cameras
00:08:18.160 were on him. And he said something very
00:08:21.759 gracious and very eloquent. And how many
00:08:25.919 times did people on the right, the
00:08:28.479 conservatives,
00:08:30.000 repost that and comment on it and reuse
00:08:33.039 that and turn it into a meme and
00:08:34.799 champion him as somebody who rose above
00:08:38.399 the opposition and did the right thing
00:08:40.399 and said the right thing in the the
00:08:42.640 position of the the commanderin-chief of
00:08:45.440 the the United States.
00:08:47.600 >> Yes. That’s that’s what you’re supposed
00:08:50.720 to do. You’re supposed to have eloquence
00:08:54.320 and grace.
00:08:55.200 >> So, he’s got it in him.
00:08:56.800 >> Yes, he does. And he’s human. He can
00:08:59.680 make a mistake, but I’m allowed to speak
00:09:01.920 out on it just like I’m speaking out
00:09:03.279 about Amfest.
00:09:05.040 And I guess I’ll have people that
00:09:07.279 disagree with me. Well, getting back to
00:09:10.000 that, I mean, there’s this sort of shift
00:09:14.320 and this division in in people who now
00:09:18.399 know about Charlie Kirk and and uh
00:09:21.680 Amfest and Turning Point USA and, you
00:09:24.399 know, this this division in the the
00:09:26.800 conservative movement about whether you
00:09:29.680 support them or whether you you don’t
00:09:32.080 support them. I mean, break that down.
00:09:35.279 What’s what’s with the the not
00:09:36.880 supporting? Well, I don’t even think
00:09:38.320 it’s just not supporting you. It’s not
00:09:40.240 like I don’t support what TPUSA
00:09:42.399 represents. That’s not a thing that
00:09:44.480 where you’re like, I don’t support where
00:09:47.360 their heart is or maybe where the people
00:09:50.000 that worked for Charlie, their heart is
00:09:52.160 to, you know, speak up and, you know,
00:09:54.959 explain
00:09:56.160 >> because at it at its core, it’s a
00:09:58.000 grassroots effort that helps the
00:10:00.480 conservative, the Republican party with
00:10:03.279 conservative thought and getting people
00:10:05.360 elected. But you didn’t see Charlie with
00:10:07.760 fireworks everywhere and trying to make
00:10:10.080 billions and billions of dollars. Maybe
00:10:11.760 he did make some money, but it’s just
00:10:13.760 it’s now I feel like Charlie’s name is
00:10:18.240 being used to
00:10:21.519 do something that I it just feels
00:10:23.920 different than what Charlie did.
00:10:25.200 >> Yeah. It’s that ick feeling that you
00:10:26.480 mentioned.
00:10:26.800 >> It’s just an ick feeling that I have. I
00:10:28.640 I just I as a mother, as a wife, as a
00:10:34.800 business owner, everything in me
00:10:37.600 calculates and goes, "This woman is a
00:10:39.600 widow. This woman has to take over this
00:10:41.200 business. This woman is a mother. This
00:10:43.040 woman has to do all of these things."
00:10:44.800 And at the same time, something is not
00:10:47.360 right.
00:10:48.480 >> Well, we talked about it from the very
00:10:50.800 beginning with her. And it’s it’s almost
00:10:54.560 as if
00:10:56.399 everything that she does is a
00:10:58.640 performance. Yes.
00:10:59.519 >> And I think that’s people see
00:11:01.360 insincerity. They see right through it.
00:11:04.320 >> And I mean I think that’s what we’re
00:11:05.839 picking up on, right?
00:11:06.959 >> Yes. Yes. You just you just feel the
00:11:09.920 fakeness. You feel the insincerity. You
00:11:13.120 feel this. And I don’t know if it I you
00:11:17.120 know I don’t even know personally if
00:11:18.560 it’s like oh they killed Charlie and now
00:11:21.440 they’re trying to take away his voice so
00:11:23.040 we have to amp it up a million times
00:11:25.200 more and this is a marketing thing where
00:11:28.079 not fully marketing but you know what
00:11:29.519 I’m saying like we have to hit it hard
00:11:31.680 by doing X Y and Z. Well, if that’s the
00:11:34.640 case I you’re losing people. But, you
00:11:37.519 know, they’ve got they’ve got so much
00:11:39.920 money pouring into Turning Point that it
00:11:44.480 seems like they should have people who
00:11:48.880 are are marketers that are guiding them
00:11:51.440 with it. And it feels like they’re
00:11:52.959 making marketing mistakes, doesn’t it?
00:11:55.360 >> Well, yes. And you know, the sad part
00:11:57.279 even too with us being um having a
00:12:00.000 nonprofit
00:12:01.680 and you see how much money is just
00:12:03.519 pouring in there and you see these other
00:12:05.839 nonprofits and people coming to me
00:12:08.079 asking us for money. It’s like how come
00:12:10.959 people that are the little guys like us,
00:12:13.920 we don’t ever get donors. I mean, we get
00:12:16.079 some like trickling in here and there,
00:12:18.560 right?
00:12:18.880 >> But it’s like
00:12:20.480 >> these people that already have so much
00:12:22.560 money, like so much money.
00:12:25.920 >> Uh, you know, we wanted to help out a a
00:12:28.720 a person through the law firm and
00:12:30.480 getting them a car, you know, calling
00:12:33.600 car dealerships. It’s like, oh, sorry,
00:12:35.120 we already gave a a car to the biggest
00:12:37.200 church in all of Arizona. Sorry, you
00:12:39.920 know, we already You can call somebody
00:12:41.200 else. Can you help out with tones tones
00:12:43.279 and bones? Oh, sorry. we already donated
00:12:45.519 $50,000 to Turning Point. And you know,
00:12:48.320 you just kind of get a little
00:12:50.880 disillusioned because you’re like, wait
00:12:52.320 a minute, why are you giving it to the
00:12:54.160 big machine that already has so much
00:12:56.000 money? And doesn’t TPUSA understand that
00:12:58.480 they’re like coming in like if you were
00:13:00.079 to see a cartoon and it’s this big
00:13:01.760 machine just [snorts] sucking up all
00:13:04.800 this money. And I’m not saying they’re
00:13:06.959 not going to do good things with it. I
00:13:08.560 hope that they do. But I just I’m
00:13:11.519 currently it’s feeling like I’m watching
00:13:14.480 the Super Bowl of Super Bowls and
00:13:16.160 there’s this big act going on and
00:13:18.399 everybody’s pulled into it and I’m not
00:13:21.200 saying everybody has wrong motives. I’m
00:13:22.880 not I just
00:13:24.079 >> And they came out they came out vocally
00:13:27.519 against Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens
00:13:30.800 kind of driving that wedge further,
00:13:32.480 don’t you think? Well, they did, but
00:13:34.399 then Candace and um
00:13:37.040 >> Candace and Erica met up and it’s now
00:13:39.200 like you’re watching a housewife show
00:13:41.279 and now they’re getting along. I mean,
00:13:43.279 and then you go back to the party and
00:13:44.959 you’re like, "Okay." Like I just I I
00:13:49.440 feel like at the end of the day, once
00:13:52.000 again, you feel like you’re being
00:13:54.480 played.
00:13:55.120 >> Well, we’ve talked about it again and
00:13:56.800 again and again. We feel as the little
00:13:59.600 guy like maybe both sides are in it
00:14:02.560 together and they’re putting up this
00:14:04.160 fake front of the two sides polarizing
00:14:07.279 people and in the end they’re
00:14:09.279 manipulating people and all working
00:14:11.279 towards their same goal. What works in
00:14:13.279 their best interest.
00:14:14.079 >> Absolutely. Good cop bad cop, right?
00:14:16.880 >> That’s been around forever.
00:14:18.000 >> Totally. Totally.
00:14:18.800 >> Good cop, bad cop.
00:14:19.680 >> Yeah, that’s it. Exactly.
00:14:20.959 >> Well, do you want to get into all the
00:14:22.720 stories that we have for the day?
00:14:25.199 >> Yeah. So, uh, you heard about the, uh,
00:14:27.680 the attorneys being fined for using AI.
00:14:32.240 It’s in the Only Fans lawsuit.
00:14:34.639 >> Yeah. Well, I guess one of the
00:14:36.240 attorneys, the what is the word? It’s
00:14:38.959 that AI hallucinated part of her. Can we
00:14:41.920 get into it? This is we’re actually
00:14:43.440 seeing this more and more
00:14:46.079 show up in court cases and in in
00:14:49.440 sanctions against attorneys where
00:14:51.440 they’re using AI and AI is hallucinating
00:14:55.600 case citations and saying this is the
00:14:58.160 case that says X Y and Z so judge you
00:15:00.959 have to follow this law and they’re
00:15:02.800 citing to actual
00:15:05.920 actual cases and then you find out later
00:15:08.959 on it was completely made up. AI is
00:15:11.199 making it up.
00:15:12.000 >> And I read that there they they actually
00:15:14.320 have made decisions
00:15:16.399 >> in court based on that.
00:15:17.920 >> Sure.
00:15:18.399 >> And from what I hear, like even from
00:15:21.839 your divorce, sorry, I go back to that
00:15:23.760 because the judge was recused off of
00:15:25.680 your divorce for being biased towards
00:15:28.240 you,
00:15:28.800 >> right?
00:15:29.199 >> Um once that’s made, can they go back
00:15:31.920 and change it? Because I’ve heard that
00:15:33.600 you cannot change that once it’s in
00:15:35.199 there.
00:15:35.839 >> So,
00:15:36.399 >> I mean, obviously you can appeal, but if
00:15:38.480 >> Yeah, there there’s appeals. There’s
00:15:40.240 also an ability for a judge to go back
00:15:43.199 and change his own opinion if he so
00:15:46.560 feels like it. There’s also addressing
00:15:50.000 opinions and decisions if there’s some
00:15:52.160 sort of fraud or misrepresentation,
00:15:54.399 which that would qualify. And that’s why
00:15:56.480 those attorneys are getting fined
00:15:57.680 because it’s it’s tanamount to fraud on
00:15:59.360 the court.
00:15:59.920 >> So, how how are we going to with AI?
00:16:02.639 They’re going to have to figure out
00:16:04.639 something where what if they come up
00:16:07.199 with a picture as evidence that’s AI.
00:16:10.320 >> This is this is a brand new area and it
00:16:13.759 is it’s terrifying. It is because that’s
00:16:16.000 exactly right. You’ve played around on
00:16:18.480 Grock and Chat GPT creating images and
00:16:21.440 videos even.
00:16:22.560 >> It’s a lot of fun, but it’s scary
00:16:24.240 because it looks real.
00:16:25.360 >> It looks absolutely real. And you’re
00:16:27.600 right. There could be evidence that is
00:16:30.079 presented in court of a video of
00:16:32.480 somebody doing something and it’s
00:16:35.759 completely AI generated. It’s scary.
00:16:40.639 Well, I’m glad that they figured this
00:16:42.399 out with this particular situation. And
00:16:46.639 it you just how many lawyers are sitting
00:16:49.759 here right now going, "Oh, I did write
00:16:51.279 that through AI." And you know people,
00:16:54.240 even business owners, everything they’re
00:16:55.680 writing it through AI. And what if it
00:16:58.000 doesn’t hold up in court and you’re
00:16:59.040 trusting AI?
00:17:00.240 >> Yeah. So, and I think that’s the the
00:17:02.000 bigger picture and I think that’s what
00:17:03.360 what everybody needs to take away. This
00:17:05.119 is not just a lawyer and a judge thing
00:17:07.280 because judges have written opinions and
00:17:10.559 they’ve used AI and been found out later
00:17:12.720 on there’s hallucinated case sites in
00:17:15.039 there. So, it’s it’s across the board.
00:17:16.959 And I think the bigger lesson for all of
00:17:19.919 us is use the AI. It is just a tool. It
00:17:24.240 is not the final thing. You’ve got to
00:17:28.000 use it as your framework, as your basis,
00:17:30.400 but you still have to put the effort in.
00:17:32.400 You still have to do the independent
00:17:35.120 investigation. You you’ve got to do the
00:17:37.600 research. You’ve got to write it
00:17:38.880 yourself.
00:17:39.600 >> Especially with law. A lot of people,
00:17:42.160 you know, I’ve talked to them and
00:17:43.200 they’re like, "Oh, no. I have my
00:17:44.480 contracts written by AI." How do you
00:17:46.320 know they’re going to hold up in a court
00:17:47.360 of law? Just because AI told you. It’s a
00:17:49.520 it’s it’s a it’s an inexpensive way to
00:17:52.400 get yourself into an expensive
00:17:55.679 uh situation.
00:17:56.799 >> Yeah. Well, and that, you know, goes
00:17:58.480 back years ago. Everybody remembers when
00:18:00.960 when Legal Zoom came out. There was this
00:18:03.120 company that came out and they were
00:18:04.400 putting all this stuff on the internet.
00:18:06.080 You know, pay whatever 50 bucks and you
00:18:08.880 get a stock contract for something. It’s
00:18:10.880 the same kind of thing. You can do that
00:18:13.679 as your framework, but really to be
00:18:16.400 safe, you’ve got to know what you’re
00:18:18.000 doing. You’ve got to know what to go in
00:18:19.440 and pick and choose and rework a little
00:18:21.200 bit. And we’ve done that, you know, I’ve
00:18:23.039 done that where I’ve I’ve used it for
00:18:25.520 tones and bones for things that, you
00:18:27.919 know, areas of law that I don’t
00:18:29.360 practice. I’ve studied them. I have the
00:18:31.600 basis, the bas knowledge of it, and I
00:18:34.320 can go back and I can do the research
00:18:36.160 and and kind of round it out. Give me
00:18:38.240 the framework, but then I have to put in
00:18:41.679 the effort and create it so it’s tailor
00:18:44.640 made to work for whatever that situation
00:18:46.960 is. But you’re a lawyer. So to you,
00:18:48.720 you’re like, "Okay, this kind of makes
00:18:50.080 sense."
00:18:50.559 >> Totally.
00:18:51.120 >> Whereas just somebody that’s opening an
00:18:53.039 art business and it’s going to be like,
00:18:54.320 "Oh, I’m going to rent out. Let me have
00:18:57.840 AI write me a contract that I think it’s
00:19:00.720 good." And I ask AI, "Are you sure this
00:19:02.320 is good? It’s good."
00:19:03.840 >> Yeah.
00:19:04.080 >> And then somebody comes in that’s a
00:19:05.440 lawyer that maybe does art on the side
00:19:07.600 and is like, "No, no, no. This this
00:19:10.000 contract is not." So I wonder how many
00:19:12.160 people are out there with actual
00:19:13.600 contracts that have holes in them.
00:19:15.360 >> There’s quite a bit. I mean, we’ll
00:19:16.559 periodically do business with somebody
00:19:19.039 and we’ll get a contract that’s that’s
00:19:20.880 spit out by AI or whatever. And I can
00:19:23.520 tell I can tell right away. There’s
00:19:25.440 there’s certain things that you see in
00:19:27.679 contracts that, you know, yes, somebody
00:19:31.600 knows what they’re doing when they put
00:19:32.799 this in there.
00:19:33.600 >> Yeah.
00:19:33.919 >> There’s things that that need to be in
00:19:36.000 every contract. There are things that
00:19:37.919 don’t fit every contract, but there are
00:19:40.080 things that you look for that say,
00:19:41.200 "Okay,
00:19:42.160 >> this person is thinking about all these
00:19:44.400 other paragraphs. That’s why they have
00:19:46.000 this in here. It’s linking this
00:19:47.280 together. It’s bringing in this law.
00:19:49.120 This I studied in school. I know why
00:19:51.120 that’s in there. Yeah. You can tell when
00:19:53.280 it’s done right. And it really You’ve
00:19:55.039 got to be careful with that.
00:19:56.559 >> I agree.
00:19:57.520 >> Yeah. That uh Only Fans thing. I guess
00:20:01.919 it’s a lawsuit against Only Fans and
00:20:05.200 they’re
00:20:06.720 being sued class action because they’re
00:20:11.039 saying that Only Fans is tricking
00:20:14.080 people. Mhm.
00:20:15.200 >> into spending more money on only Only
00:20:18.160 Fans.
00:20:18.720 >> But this is something that I heard about
00:20:20.240 years ago. Our SEO company um that we
00:20:23.280 used like 8 years ago. They had talked
00:20:26.160 about something where it’s like porn
00:20:29.200 sites where you can have a chat with
00:20:31.760 someone, but then they pretend that this
00:20:34.400 person’s a person, but you’re really
00:20:35.760 just talking to a computer. Yeah. Chat
00:20:37.440 bots.
00:20:37.919 >> But you’re you’re paying to talk to
00:20:39.760 someone
00:20:40.720 >> and that’s illegal. So, they’re
00:20:42.080 basically what from what I what I read
00:20:45.600 too, and I might be wrong and I might be
00:20:47.679 misspeaking, but from what I remember,
00:20:49.600 they said that they’re pretending to
00:20:52.159 have them talk to these Only Fan members
00:20:55.679 >> and they’re I or Only Fan
00:20:58.320 >> All Girls Workers. I don’t know. No
00:20:59.919 idea.
00:21:00.240 >> What do they call them?
00:21:01.600 >> So far from knowing [laughter] the
00:21:03.360 specifics of of Only Fans, but
00:21:06.320 >> you Thank God you don’t know.
00:21:07.840 >> Well, but I think
00:21:08.640 >> But I It was so funny. Hold on. Let me
00:21:10.714 [laughter] So I had asked Jack, I’m
00:21:12.559 like, "Jack," cuz I was just making a
00:21:14.960 joke about a couple that we know. But um
00:21:17.200 I said, "Jack, do you think they could
00:21:18.799 have been recording an Only Fans video?
00:21:20.480 Do you know if there’s couples on Only
00:21:22.159 Fans?" He’s like, "Mother, I don’t know.
00:21:24.159 >> Why would I know?"
00:21:25.280 >> Like, "Oh, thank God you don’t know."
00:21:27.360 >> But anyways, they you know, is that
00:21:30.480 something that’s illegal where you can
00:21:32.559 say you’re talking to somebody, but
00:21:33.919 you’re not? I mean,
00:21:35.360 >> I don’t think that that’s the issue with
00:21:36.559 it. I think the issue is they were
00:21:40.000 convincing people to spend more money by
00:21:43.840 pretending that they’re
00:21:46.000 >> not associated with Only Fans. So, it’s
00:21:48.960 this little twist of fraud in there of
00:21:52.400 inducing them to spend more.
00:21:54.159 >> Wow. A manipulation in business.
00:21:56.320 >> Yeah. Which they can do. They can, you
00:21:58.240 know, every business, you know, you go
00:22:00.159 into any store across the country and
00:22:02.880 they say, "Oh, that’s a really nice
00:22:04.559 shirt you’re getting. Hey, we have this
00:22:06.240 cologne right here. You want to buy
00:22:07.600 that, too? They’re trying to talk you
00:22:08.960 into spending more.
00:22:10.000 >> Yeah. So, why is the one legal and one’s
00:22:12.000 not?
00:22:13.440 >> It’s
00:22:14.880 >> like, where’s the law with that?
00:22:16.799 >> Yeah. I mean, it it’s it’s in whether
00:22:20.880 they’re being open and honest and
00:22:24.720 upfront about it. So, in other words,
00:22:26.640 you walk into a store, it’s a given that
00:22:29.360 they’re trying to sell you things. you,
00:22:32.080 I guess, get a subscription or whatever
00:22:34.000 to Only Fans. I don’t know if that’s the
00:22:35.440 way it works, but they’re using people.
00:22:38.480 If they had people who are associated
00:22:40.400 with it, saying, "Hey, upgrade to this
00:22:42.640 type of a membership and you get X, Y,
00:22:44.400 and Z, that would seem legal. But if
00:22:47.280 they’re having people who are not
00:22:49.840 appearing as they’re associated with it
00:22:52.320 and saying, you know, if you spend X, Y,
00:22:55.520 and Z, then you get this." then that’s
00:22:59.280 that’s fraudulent. That’s not truthful.
00:23:02.960 That’s tricking people into spending
00:23:05.440 more. And I think that’s what the
00:23:06.480 lawsuit’s about. Whether it actually
00:23:08.320 pans out or not, whether they win the
00:23:09.840 case or not remains to be seen. I mean,
00:23:11.919 that’s that’s what we talk about all the
00:23:13.679 time with with legal cases is a lot of
00:23:16.480 times there’s no clear black and white.
00:23:18.720 Yes, this is legal. No, that’s illegal.
00:23:22.080 It’s always this. Well, it’s legal until
00:23:25.679 a court says or a jury says that it’s
00:23:28.080 not legal. And that’s kind of where we
00:23:29.360 are.
00:23:29.760 >> It’s just based on opinions.
00:23:31.440 >> Yeah. Yeah. Totally. Totally.
00:23:33.440 >> All right. What’s this? What’s our next
00:23:35.200 uh
00:23:35.440 >> You want to talk about this Abbott Labs
00:23:36.960 thing
00:23:37.760 >> that Oh, when you told me about that,
00:23:40.320 that made me so mad.
00:23:42.000 >> Yeah. So it’s this Abbott Labs produces
00:23:45.200 baby formula and and
00:23:47.120 >> for preeis
00:23:48.000 >> for this this one formula is
00:23:50.080 specifically for premature babies and
00:23:53.280 the allegation I just want to correct
00:23:55.840 you because earlier you said that it’s
00:23:57.840 killing babies. That hasn’t been proven
00:24:00.400 and they’re taking the position that
00:24:01.919 it’s it’s not doing it. But the
00:24:03.919 allegation is
00:24:04.720 >> well babies have died and they’re
00:24:06.240 claiming that that formula has
00:24:08.720 >> Exactly.
00:24:09.440 >> Sorry I’m not a lawyer. Don’t sue me.
00:24:11.279 >> Yeah. No, that’s why I’m here.
00:24:12.320 >> Go through him.
00:24:13.039 >> Right. Right. Exactly. So there the the
00:24:16.000 claim is that there’s this specific
00:24:19.120 necrotizing enteritis
00:24:21.679 that is killing the premature babies. So
00:24:24.000 they’re getting they’re taking this
00:24:25.200 formula and it’s causing something
00:24:27.520 horrible to happen in their colon and
00:24:30.080 they’re dying as a result. And so
00:24:31.520 they’re getting sued. And so Abbott Labs
00:24:34.720 turned to Congress and public opinion
00:24:39.039 and says, "Look, give us immunity
00:24:41.919 against these lawsuits so that we can’t
00:24:43.840 be sued or we’re not making our formula
00:24:45.919 anymore."
00:24:46.480 >> Well, if you look into it too, they say
00:24:48.720 that preeis supposedly have a very
00:24:51.919 difficult time digesting cow milk. So
00:24:55.039 it’s, you know, a mother and her nursing
00:24:58.159 and the way that the body is as a
00:25:01.120 preeie, it really needs
00:25:05.120 uh mother’s milk. And if they’re
00:25:08.240 premature, the mother won’t be uh able
00:25:11.919 to give milk. So they’re saying that
00:25:14.559 there’s options. You can have donated um
00:25:18.320 you know, donated milk. And
00:25:21.039 >> is there a market for that? Is that
00:25:22.320 really a thing?
00:25:23.039 >> Yes. Yes. Oh, so you can get donated
00:25:26.240 milk. You can have another mother that
00:25:28.080 you know donate their milk. And
00:25:29.760 obviously it’s not for the age of the
00:25:31.600 preeie. But what they’re saying is
00:25:34.559 that’s also not an excuse for Abbott
00:25:36.960 Labs. They knew that if you knowing that
00:25:41.840 cow milk can harm a baby, it almost like
00:25:44.960 there should be a blackbox warning. I
00:25:47.279 don’t I don’t know how does that work.
00:25:49.679 their defense, what they’re saying is a
00:25:52.640 that the science is not supporting that
00:25:54.559 that’s what’s causing it, that their
00:25:56.320 formula is
00:25:56.960 >> breast milk. I said mother’s milk. It’s
00:25:59.200 a breast. I couldn’t remember the name.
00:26:01.537 [laughter]
00:26:02.720 >> One in the same
00:26:03.440 >> booby milk. I nursed my kids for two
00:26:06.000 years each. So, I am very well aware of
00:26:08.240 nursing. So, but go ahead. Sorry. I was
00:26:10.559 so happy when it came into my head.
00:26:13.200 >> I I see that. I’m glad it came into your
00:26:15.600 head.
00:26:16.159 >> Breast milk,
00:26:17.039 >> right?
00:26:17.520 >> Sorry. Anyway, they’re they’re saying
00:26:19.760 that first of all, the science doesn’t
00:26:21.440 support that their formula is causing
00:26:23.039 this. So, they think that they have an
00:26:25.120 absolute defense to it. Secondly,
00:26:26.960 they’re saying that they are going to
00:26:29.840 get so many lawsuits, they’re going to
00:26:32.000 have to spend so much money on defense
00:26:34.720 that it’s not worth it to them to
00:26:36.480 continue. And thirdly, they’re saying
00:26:38.720 they’ve already complied with all the
00:26:40.559 FDA requirements, all the governmental
00:26:43.279 restrictions on it. And because they’re
00:26:45.200 within the bounds of what they’re
00:26:47.279 required to do, they shouldn’t have to
00:26:49.600 be sued and defend themselves.
00:26:51.279 >> Well, think of it this way, too. You
00:26:53.120 know, like devil’s advocate here. It,
00:26:56.640 you know, as a mom, you’re mad and
00:26:58.480 you’re like, "Wait a minute. You knew
00:27:00.000 this is risky, but at the same time, you
00:27:02.080 have a preeie." And what what choice do
00:27:04.640 you have if you can’t get breast milk?
00:27:07.760 You also risk when they say, "I have to
00:27:10.080 give your preema this medicine, and it
00:27:11.679 may cause X, Y, and Z." I think you’re
00:27:13.600 at the mercy of wanting that baby to be
00:27:16.000 okay and alive. And if they are at the
00:27:18.480 point where they’re like, "Hey, this is
00:27:20.720 the best formula that can be made, but
00:27:24.240 preeis reject cow’s milk and it could
00:27:28.320 cause this necroizing
00:27:30.480 whatever you call it, right?"
00:27:32.159 >> Then you as a mother, but they I think
00:27:34.559 it’s more of like what you were saying,
00:27:36.159 the awareness. Are they being made
00:27:38.320 aware? Hey, by the way, this is serious.
00:27:40.799 Or is it under the rug where they want
00:27:42.559 to sell the milk? And you know, that’s
00:27:44.400 where the de Oh, these sleeves make me
00:27:47.039 want to do this. [laughter] Like,
00:27:51.919 woo. [laughter]
00:27:54.720 What’s that lady’s name with the black
00:27:56.720 hair that she’s like, uh, Elvra.
00:28:00.720 >> Anyways, I’m gonna be doing this a lot.
00:28:02.159 Sorry. Um [laughter]
00:28:05.039 but so
00:28:07.760 I I I I agree in the fact if they think
00:28:10.960 that they have made the formula up to
00:28:13.120 standard then that’s all that they can
00:28:15.360 do. But at the same time if it’s been
00:28:18.960 hidden from these parents so that they
00:28:21.600 could sell more and they didn’t make it
00:28:23.679 as serious like hey just so you know you
00:28:27.120 can do this formula but this is the
00:28:29.279 risk. Well, and see, that’s that’s what
00:28:32.320 product liability lawsuits come down to.
00:28:35.600 A, there’s a a dangerous product and or
00:28:40.799 B, they failed to warn about the
00:28:44.559 dangerousness of the product,
00:28:46.240 >> right? So, I’m kind of like in the
00:28:48.240 middle there. I mean, I I feel bad in
00:28:50.880 the fact that like
00:28:54.159 you’re put in that situation as a mother
00:28:56.080 to try and save your child as a preeie,
00:28:59.360 you know, and they’re having to do all
00:29:02.240 of these life-saving measures. But thank
00:29:03.840 God we do have the ability to do that.
00:29:06.320 But what’s what’s what’s are parents of
00:29:09.120 preeies supposed to do if they’re told
00:29:11.919 your your baby was just born
00:29:13.679 prematurely,
00:29:15.279 baby needs something to eat, your choice
00:29:18.399 is this that could harm them or what?
00:29:24.320 Well, that’s the same thing. There’s
00:29:25.600 probably medication that the preey has
00:29:27.279 to have to try and grow their lungs or
00:29:28.960 do things that could also cause harm.
00:29:31.039 So, it’s not just the milk. There’s
00:29:33.840 other things that are happening. So
00:29:35.760 maybe at that point the milk is also
00:29:38.159 treated like a medication where you can
00:29:41.039 do natural where if you can find someone
00:29:42.880 that has breast milk you can give it to
00:29:45.039 the baby or the hospital has a you know
00:29:47.919 1-800 number breast milk for mother. I
00:29:51.360 mean they have blood banks. Can they do
00:29:54.240 correct breast milk banks?
00:29:55.760 >> They probably do. We have to look that
00:29:57.440 up.
00:29:57.919 >> Yeah.
00:29:58.320 >> But
00:29:58.720 >> I mean it seems like that’d be a great
00:30:00.159 idea.
00:30:00.880 >> Yeah. But so now we’re making you aware
00:30:04.480 Abbott Labs if you have a preeie or you
00:30:06.960 are you know be aware that cow’s milk
00:30:11.039 could possibly cause your your preeie to
00:30:13.840 have this issue.
00:30:14.720 >> Yeah. And you know what the the issue
00:30:16.799 with that uh on the legal side of things
00:30:19.440 for me really comes back to should a
00:30:22.720 corporation have immunity for their
00:30:25.360 product just because they’re following
00:30:28.640 federal regulations and they don’t want
00:30:31.279 to have to defend lawsuits. And no,
00:30:33.440 >> I don’t agree with that.
00:30:34.559 >> Oh yeah. No. Ew.
00:30:36.000 >> I mean I I agree with accountability. I
00:30:38.720 agree with corporate accountability. And
00:30:40.480 I feel like if if there’s immunity
00:30:44.480 then that does not drive
00:30:47.840 safer products.
00:30:49.200 >> No. Heck no. Why would they have to try?
00:30:51.279 Because you know a lot of these
00:30:52.399 companies a lot of companies are just
00:30:54.640 for about give me the money,
00:30:57.360 >> right?
00:30:58.000 >> Dollar bills.
00:30:58.799 >> If there’s no accountability, there’s no
00:31:00.559 there’s no push for them to make their
00:31:02.320 product safer. And
00:31:03.679 >> absolutely not. And that’s with
00:31:04.640 everything. Like how many times have we
00:31:05.679 been in Mexico and I’m like, "Holy cow,
00:31:07.520 there’s a giant hole that I could have
00:31:09.279 fallen in right next to this p the pool,
00:31:12.799 right?
00:31:13.200 >> Or there’s like big huge thing uh in the
00:31:15.840 pool where the water go the drains that
00:31:17.919 are like sucking you in." And and you
00:31:20.399 know, as much as people hate personal
00:31:21.679 injury attorneys that those safety
00:31:24.320 things that we have around us.
00:31:25.919 >> Yeah.
00:31:26.240 >> It’s because of personal injury
00:31:27.440 attorneys and lawsuits because on their
00:31:29.840 own, they won’t do they won’t fix those
00:31:32.159 things.
00:31:32.399 >> Yeah. I mean, you hear the jokes all the
00:31:34.080 time. I mean, we’ve you see the uh what
00:31:36.559 is it the curling iron and there’s the
00:31:38.480 the warning tag on there
00:31:39.840 >> for out do not
00:31:41.039 >> external use only.
00:31:42.159 >> I mean who yes who made them put that
00:31:45.279 >> but but at the same time
00:31:48.880 something happened somewhere and the
00:31:52.159 company saw that you know what in order
00:31:55.039 to avoid being sued in order to avoid
00:31:57.600 having those defense costs we better put
00:31:59.760 that warning on there.
00:32:00.799 >> Yeah. So now for people who think that
00:32:05.039 that’s a thing, they know better
00:32:08.159 >> or at least you hope they do. [laughter]
00:32:09.760 They’re not liable.
00:32:11.039 >> But that’s that’s an extreme example of
00:32:12.880 the warnings, but there are a lot of
00:32:15.039 warnings. We see them all the time now
00:32:16.640 and they should be on things. They they
00:32:18.880 should be there to tell people and you
00:32:21.200 know, yeah, put a put a warning label on
00:32:23.440 that.
00:32:24.240 Honestly, if Abbott Labs doesn’t want to
00:32:26.399 make their preeie formula anymore, you
00:32:28.240 think that no other company’s ever going
00:32:30.159 to come out and make a formula?
00:32:32.480 >> I don’t know. Maybe they don’t want the
00:32:33.760 lawsuits either.
00:32:35.360 >> Yeah, but maybe it’s worth it to them. I
00:32:37.840 mean,
00:32:38.240 >> maybe
00:32:38.960 >> if they’re if they’re making a safe
00:32:40.799 product, they’re going to make a lot of
00:32:42.799 money.
00:32:43.360 >> Or maybe it would push people if there’s
00:32:45.600 not that product to I’m sure there’s
00:32:47.840 tons of moms out there. Obviously, I
00:32:50.320 don’t know how medically that works.
00:32:53.279 that would be willing to sell their
00:32:55.679 breast milk and you know give it to the
00:32:59.120 hospitals or even donate it if it’s for
00:33:00.880 a preeie.
00:33:01.600 >> Yeah, that’d be worth it to know.
00:33:02.799 >> You know, sometimes when you when you
00:33:04.559 close one thing, you open something
00:33:06.720 better.
00:33:07.679 >> Yeah, good point. Good point. I mean, I
00:33:10.080 think that’s that’s a real faith-based
00:33:12.799 kind of feel to that statement as well.
00:33:14.640 Don’t you agree?
00:33:15.440 >> Oh, absolutely. I’m always about have,
00:33:18.640 you know, having God guide you. But then
00:33:20.399 in general, you know, even if God’s, you
00:33:22.559 know, if you’re not a Christian and
00:33:23.600 God’s not guiding you, I think guide God
00:33:25.440 is guiding everyone to a certain degree
00:33:27.600 because if one person is being guided,
00:33:29.120 then you’re affected by that. The ripple
00:33:30.720 effect.
00:33:31.200 >> Sure.
00:33:31.760 >> And I think
00:33:34.640 everything has a spiritual meaning if
00:33:36.640 you ask me.
00:33:37.440 >> I like it. I like it. All right. You
00:33:39.519 want to talk about Dan Bonino for a
00:33:40.960 minute?
00:33:41.200 >> Heck yes. I love Dan.
00:33:43.120 >> Yeah. But what’s, you know, I saw that
00:33:45.679 he’s leaving the FBI, but what’s weird
00:33:48.320 too is I heard a few months ago from
00:33:51.679 somebody where their brother was going
00:33:52.960 to go work up in DC
00:33:55.919 that he had heard back then that they
00:33:58.399 were cleaning house and they were going
00:33:59.679 to get rid of Dan.
00:34:02.159 So, I don’t know that just, you know
00:34:03.519 what I mean? And that could have been a
00:34:06.480 rumor. Um, but anyway,
00:34:09.359 >> but there’s they haven’t really said a
00:34:10.719 whole lot about why he’s leaving, have
00:34:12.320 they? Well, he did. He said that he his
00:34:16.399 wife isn’t doing well and
00:34:18.399 >> Oh, okay.
00:34:18.960 >> they feel like he feels he’s divorced
00:34:21.199 from his wife, which is a very real
00:34:23.839 thing.
00:34:24.399 >> It’s a demanding job.
00:34:26.560 >> And I’m sure there’s more to to it that
00:34:30.639 we’re never going to know.
00:34:32.320 >> But I guess it brings up sort of burnout
00:34:36.239 in the workplace. I mean, that’s a real
00:34:38.079 thing. if that if there’s some burnout
00:34:40.480 and separation from his family, that’s
00:34:42.159 got to be hard.
00:34:42.800 >> Absolutely. Absolutely. I mean, we’ve
00:34:44.960 talked about that before.
00:34:46.320 >> Yeah.
00:34:46.639 >> You know, that’s why we feel it’s
00:34:48.000 important that the law firm only works
00:34:50.800 from 9 to5 where a lot of attorneys will
00:34:53.280 work 50 60 hours a week,
00:34:55.199 >> right?
00:34:55.839 >> We feel like
00:34:57.839 going back to our last podcast and if
00:34:59.599 you haven’t watched it, you better watch
00:35:00.720 it. Family, the core of your family and
00:35:04.400 being there for the core of your family
00:35:06.320 for multiple reasons. And if he can’t be
00:35:09.599 there, what is he investing in? Is it
00:35:12.800 more important for him to invest in
00:35:14.240 America and the FBI, which I don’t know
00:35:17.119 with this whole Charlie thing, it seems
00:35:18.640 like they’re not too great in my mind,
00:35:21.920 but
00:35:22.640 >> Yeah. But I I mean, I heard Cash Patel
00:35:25.359 and Pam Bondi both commended him for his
00:35:29.280 work there and said that, you know, the
00:35:30.960 country is a better place because of
00:35:32.400 him.
00:35:34.400 >> Yeah.
00:35:34.800 >> What?
00:35:35.760 >> Okay. [laughter] So what what I mean
00:35:39.359 >> I I think it’s important for him to do
00:35:41.040 what’s best for him and his family. I
00:35:43.359 really do. I think that that has to be a
00:35:45.119 priority.
00:35:45.680 >> I feel like there’s a lot of uh little
00:35:48.480 sound bites that people say that make no
00:35:50.720 difference.
00:35:51.280 >> Yeah. We had a discussion and I I’d love
00:35:53.920 to tell this story. We had a discussion
00:35:55.440 years back about me working as an
00:35:59.280 attorney and I love to tell this story.
00:36:01.839 >> Oh. So, I woke up one morning and it was
00:36:07.200 just one of those mornings where
00:36:09.040 everybody’s had it. You wake up, you’re
00:36:10.640 kind of sluggish, don’t feel like
00:36:12.000 getting out of bed, don’t feel like time
00:36:14.079 to make the donuts, you know, doing the
00:36:15.680 same routine again and again and again.
00:36:18.160 And I looked over at you and said,
00:36:21.040 "Maybe I don’t want to be an attorney
00:36:22.400 anymore." You remember what you said?
00:36:25.280 >> I do. You go ahead. Tell tell everyone
00:36:27.920 what I said.
00:36:28.640 >> You said, "Okay,
00:36:30.960 that simple. that quick. You did not
00:36:33.119 hesitate at all. And I was absolutely
00:36:36.880 floored. And at the same time, I just
00:36:41.119 cuz I was joking. I didn’t mean it at
00:36:43.359 all. I never thought for a second, I’m,
00:36:45.359 you know, I’m not going to work today.
00:36:47.200 I’m not going to be a lawyer anymore. I
00:36:49.200 was just totally joking. And you said
00:36:51.760 that and instantly there was this weight
00:36:54.880 on my shoulders that I didn’t even know
00:36:56.320 that was there that just lifted. And I
00:36:58.720 thought to myself, wait a minute, what?
00:37:00.960 You really don’t care. And you did not.
00:37:02.960 Your sincerity was so true. You don’t
00:37:07.440 care. What I do. What you care about is
00:37:12.079 our our marriage, our family, and our
00:37:15.440 God. And not even in that order, but
00:37:18.960 those are the core issues that you care
00:37:21.200 about. And
00:37:23.280 it was such a relief. It was such a
00:37:26.400 energizing thing for a wife to say to a
00:37:30.480 husband, for you know, a a business
00:37:33.280 partner to say to another business
00:37:34.880 partner,
00:37:36.400 "Yeah, all right. If that if you don’t
00:37:37.920 want to do it, let’s do something else."
00:37:39.280 >> Well, because what does it matter if you
00:37:41.599 have all the money in the world and
00:37:42.640 you’re not happy?
00:37:43.599 >> Yeah.
00:37:44.160 >> I’d rather have not a lot of money and
00:37:47.280 happiness.
00:37:48.000 >> Yeah, totally.
00:37:48.640 >> And if you’re not happy being a lawyer,
00:37:50.240 then let’s figure something else out and
00:37:52.400 we can do it. And
00:37:55.680 it it still stands true today. I mean, I
00:37:58.640 I always say that I own my things. My
00:38:01.040 things don’t own me.
00:38:02.160 >> Yep.
00:38:02.640 >> And I could be happy in an apartment or
00:38:05.280 I could be happy in our giant home. I
00:38:08.400 feel very blessed. I always want to know
00:38:10.240 what God is guiding us to do. I’m always
00:38:12.720 here for it. I’m always going, "Okay,
00:38:15.040 well, I guess if this doesn’t work out,
00:38:16.480 there’s a lesson in that. I guess if I’m
00:38:19.760 going to speak out about something and
00:38:21.119 people don’t like it, maybe there’s a
00:38:22.800 lesson for me in that. I just want to
00:38:25.200 live this life to the fullest and it
00:38:27.119 doesn’t have a specific
00:38:30.960 um
00:38:33.040 it doesn’t have to look an exact way.
00:38:34.960 Like success is not just having a bunch
00:38:37.119 of money and having a lawyer for this
00:38:38.720 and you know it it’s not a just a
00:38:45.119 definition of what it has to look like.
00:38:48.240 >> That’s a hard thing particularly for
00:38:51.760 a lot of guys. I can only speak for guys
00:38:54.400 but knowing guys that I know and have
00:38:58.160 known so much of our identity is tied
00:39:01.920 into our work. And I don’t know how
00:39:04.079 women how do women feel about that when
00:39:05.680 they’re
00:39:06.079 >> It’s being a mother. I I would say that
00:39:07.680 for me it’s being a mother. I mean, I
00:39:09.839 know there’s women that can’t have
00:39:11.040 children and so they would have to tell
00:39:13.119 me what they feel that they um are
00:39:17.280 prideful for. And I would say being a
00:39:19.839 mom is a big deal for me. And feeling
00:39:23.119 like I have my emotions in check for the
00:39:25.839 most part and I can handle what’s coming
00:39:28.160 my way. I would say that that if someone
00:39:30.240 said I was a bad mom or I wasn’t uh you
00:39:34.000 know being the best that I could be that
00:39:36.960 would that would sting.
00:39:38.960 >> Yeah.
00:39:39.680 >> Yeah. Yeah. I think guys
00:39:44.400 have a difficult time
00:39:48.000 getting to a point where they can switch
00:39:50.560 careers, they can retire. they can stop
00:39:54.000 being that identity that they have may
00:39:56.480 have been for 30 plus years.
00:39:58.720 >> Well, I hope Dan goes back to his show
00:40:00.880 because Yeah, right. It was great.
00:40:02.160 >> I loved watching his show and at least
00:40:04.480 he’s then with his wife and
00:40:06.800 >> I don’t know if his studio is in his
00:40:08.640 house or where his studio is, but
00:40:11.520 >> yeah,
00:40:12.079 >> I hope that it works out for him.
00:40:14.400 >> I hope so, too. You know, by switching
00:40:16.480 gears here,
00:40:17.200 >> we in a way we feel like we saw that
00:40:21.359 identity of guys in their career with
00:40:24.320 your dad.
00:40:25.200 >> Oh, yeah.
00:40:26.960 >> He was a cop his whole life
00:40:31.119 and
00:40:31.599 >> youngest chief of police of Illinois.
00:40:34.400 >> And there was some talk uh towards the
00:40:36.960 end of his life of whether and when he
00:40:40.960 would retire.
00:40:42.400 >> Yeah. He retired on a Friday and died on
00:40:44.480 that Monday.
00:40:45.280 >> Yeah. And I don’t think he retired
00:40:46.880 willingly at that point. He wasn’t
00:40:48.640 >> No, because he felt he was really sick
00:40:50.240 and he was already training someone.
00:40:52.240 >> Yeah.
00:40:52.800 >> But
00:40:55.040 I feel like
00:40:57.920 everything comes back to where you feel
00:41:01.119 like you’re making a difference in your
00:41:02.480 life. So if you feel like you’re making
00:41:05.040 a difference by being an attorney, then
00:41:07.680 you feel valuable. You feel valuable.
00:41:10.079 >> Sure. you know, if I feel like I’m
00:41:12.480 valuable as a mother, so that’s where
00:41:14.880 I’m getting my value from. If I can’t be
00:41:17.119 a mom, why am I here?
00:41:19.440 >> That’s,
00:41:20.160 >> you know what I’m saying? If I can’t be
00:41:21.599 a lawyer, why am I here? If I can’t be a
00:41:23.760 cop, why am I here? [snorts] What is my
00:41:26.000 purpose?
00:41:26.800 >> And I guess I guess the equivalent to a
00:41:30.160 guy retiring and feeling like he’s
00:41:32.800 losing that identity would be the same
00:41:34.720 as empty nesters when when all the kids
00:41:37.839 leave the house for moms. Absolutely.
00:41:41.040 You’re like, "Why am I here?" Especially
00:41:42.720 if you found your value having kids or
00:41:45.920 you found your value in giving back. And
00:41:48.240 it’s okay to have value through that. I
00:41:49.920 mean, there’s nothing wrong with loving
00:41:52.960 on other people. There’s nothing wrong
00:41:54.960 with helping other people, being an
00:41:56.640 attorney. It’s just that if you look at
00:41:58.560 your life as a pie, and let’s say your
00:42:01.040 career is 90% what fills up that pie,
00:42:04.000 that then you have issues.
00:42:05.359 >> Yeah. you know, you have to have your
00:42:07.119 health, you have to have your spiritual
00:42:08.640 life, you have to have your job. And
00:42:10.560 that’s where you have to kind of maybe
00:42:12.079 come back and reflect on your life and
00:42:14.000 say,
00:42:15.760 what is making up my entire life?
00:42:18.000 Because you better start switching gears
00:42:21.200 and
00:42:22.160 >> practically speaking, what’s that look
00:42:23.680 like to switch gears? I mean, what do
00:42:25.440 you do?
00:42:26.160 >> You have to feel the pain of saying,
00:42:27.839 "This is not who I am."
00:42:29.760 >> I mean, do you get a hobby? What do you
00:42:31.119 What do you do? No, for me it’s like the
00:42:32.400 kids are getting older and I’m like, "Oh
00:42:33.680 my gosh, like I find complete value
00:42:35.760 being a mom. I have I’ve had to
00:42:41.200 think about who I am." And that’s the
00:42:44.240 hard thing because I think that we’ve
00:42:46.640 always been taught we are what we are
00:42:50.160 >> versus who we are. And I think that it’s
00:42:52.960 hard for us to really undo that because
00:42:56.800 you’ve been you’ve been hiding behind
00:42:59.440 who you are, what you are versus who you
00:43:02.400 are. And it’s easy just like when people
00:43:06.400 say, "Oh, it’s easy to have a lot of
00:43:08.160 money because when you’re poor, you have
00:43:09.599 to be more creative and it’s very
00:43:11.839 difficult if you get sick and everything
00:43:13.520 like that." But it’s always about,
00:43:16.880 I don’t know, vices. So your job can be
00:43:19.200 your vice, money can be your vice, and
00:43:21.680 you’re not really learning and exploring
00:43:23.680 who you are. It’s easy to numb yourself
00:43:26.160 with your identity, with your money
00:43:28.960 you’re making, whatever it is. Whereas
00:43:31.599 if you sit down and I’ve sat down with
00:43:33.839 myself and I’m like, "Okay, Megan, you
00:43:35.440 feel like you would absolutely
00:43:38.319 not like not want know to do with
00:43:40.560 yourself if your kids weren’t here. Why?
00:43:43.200 Why do you feel that way?" Because I
00:43:45.760 have put so much value in being a mom,
00:43:48.079 it made me feel like I mattered. Why?
00:43:50.560 Because at at the end of the day,
00:43:55.280 I don’t feel like I matter. I m may
00:43:58.400 matter to God, but I don’t feel like I
00:44:00.640 matter to people around me.
00:44:02.480 >> You do.
00:44:03.119 >> I I know. But I don’t feel that way. So,
00:44:05.839 it’s it’s it’s easier for me to numb
00:44:08.240 that by going, "Well, it doesn’t matter.
00:44:09.760 I’ll just go be a mom." But what’s the
00:44:11.520 next step after you get to the point
00:44:13.760 where you say, "Okay, that’s why I’m
00:44:15.920 feeling that way because I feel like I’m
00:44:17.520 putting all getting all my value from
00:44:18.960 that." What’s the next step? Where do
00:44:20.240 you go from there?
00:44:21.280 >> Prayer, therapy, um
00:44:24.960 learning where you can maybe meet new
00:44:27.359 friends, working out, getting a hobby,
00:44:31.200 trying to find what you like, maybe
00:44:33.280 taking tests, personality tests. Um
00:44:37.920 >> yeah, you like doing that online. this
00:44:40.319 personality test.
00:44:41.280 >> Oh yeah. I love it when it says like,
00:44:42.960 "Oh, you’re this, this, and this." And
00:44:44.319 then it pulls up something negative
00:44:45.680 about you
00:44:46.880 >> and then I can blame you for
00:44:48.480 >> Why does that always happen? [laughter]
00:44:50.240 You get these glowing kind of this is
00:44:53.280 you’re the greatest person ever.
00:44:55.359 >> Not true.
00:44:56.240 >> And then I take the test and it’s it’s
00:44:58.000 just all about
00:44:58.800 >> Not true.
00:44:59.599 >> Well, you suck.
00:45:00.640 >> Not true. [laughter]
00:45:02.319 Not true. Well, we took the um the disc
00:45:05.839 task. Disc test. I’m a d I’m an I’m an
00:45:09.920 influencer driver and then my
00:45:12.319 organization and something else is low.
00:45:15.200 You’re you’re your least is driver. You
00:45:20.560 literally you’re driving your like
00:45:23.119 driving is like this small which we
00:45:24.960 balance.
00:45:25.680 >> Yeah.
00:45:26.160 >> Because mine is like
00:45:28.319 >> but I’m I’m great with organization and
00:45:32.000 building systems
00:45:33.200 >> which mine is low. So that’s why we make
00:45:35.359 literally the perfect match. Yeah. I’m
00:45:37.280 the decision maker. You don’t like
00:45:38.640 making decisions. However, you can
00:45:40.640 you’re organized with it and I am not.
00:45:43.920 >> Well, and that’s why it works for the
00:45:45.520 law firm, too, is because you’re the one
00:45:48.160 that’s out in the forefront, you know,
00:45:50.480 thinking about marketing and and you
00:45:53.280 know, not just that, but how can we make
00:45:55.200 a difference? You know, the the
00:45:56.800 giveaways and the charitable things that
00:45:58.880 we do and just, you know, getting us out
00:46:00.960 there moving. You know what? We need to
00:46:02.480 start focusing on X, Y, and Z and going
00:46:04.720 this direction. and I’m following that
00:46:07.599 with you and my head’s down working the
00:46:09.680 cases and having the the procedures and
00:46:12.640 the policies and you know going through
00:46:14.960 and kind of getting this case from A to
00:46:18.560 to Z.
00:46:19.520 >> But it’s like it’s a funny joke. You
00:46:20.880 always are like you know who’s the boss
00:46:22.480 but you don’t want to do those things.
00:46:24.560 >> No, I don’t want I don’t have any
00:46:25.680 interest [laughter] in
00:46:26.240 >> So it’s funny because it’s not like I’m
00:46:27.680 this controlling person. No,
00:46:29.359 >> literally sometimes I feel like and so
00:46:31.680 and so, not to make it about us cuz we
00:46:34.079 want to go back to Dan, his wife has
00:46:36.240 been very, you know, obviously brave cuz
00:46:38.079 I couldn’t live this long without you
00:46:39.680 being around. And so
00:46:43.040 it just it’s interesting
00:46:46.800 being in a relationship. It’s
00:46:48.560 interesting the dynamics what one person
00:46:50.800 does, the other person picks up and and
00:46:52.880 so on and so forth.
00:46:54.480 >> But um yeah, anyways, I didn’t mean to
00:46:57.520 switch gears like that. No, that’s okay.
00:46:59.040 No, and and I hope he does go back to
00:47:00.960 his podcast. I always enjoyed listening
00:47:02.480 to him as well. I don’t know how he’ll
00:47:04.480 do without, you know, his his Goliath of
00:47:08.640 of, you know, the Biden administration
00:47:10.720 because it seems like a lot of what he
00:47:12.319 was doing was, you know, the the the
00:47:15.040 David of the, you know, the Republican
00:47:17.440 party uh with the Goliath of the, you
00:47:20.160 know, the liberals in power and that’s
00:47:21.920 where, you know, his core was with that.
00:47:23.680 >> But it’s okay. Everything changes.
00:47:25.280 There’s a time and a place for change,
00:47:26.800 thank God. and we’re always moving
00:47:28.720 forward and there’ll be something else
00:47:30.800 for him to do.
00:47:31.680 >> Yeah. Yeah. No, totally agree. Totally
00:47:33.839 agree. What’s next on the agenda?
00:47:37.040 >> Chinese poo poo platters. [laughter]
00:47:43.839 >> Mass shootings.
00:47:45.040 >> Oh no. It’s terrible.
00:47:47.119 >> Yeah. I hate seeing this come up in the
00:47:48.800 news.
00:47:49.200 >> But you know the thing is is in
00:47:50.560 Australia they have very restrictive gun
00:47:53.040 laws
00:47:53.920 >> and yet still a mass shooting happened.
00:47:56.400 >> Yes.
00:47:57.680 Yeah. Being very clear where we stand on
00:48:01.280 on gun ownership.
00:48:03.520 >> We believe you should be able to own
00:48:05.760 guns.
00:48:06.319 >> Yeah.
00:48:07.040 >> I mean, also you should be able to own a
00:48:10.000 car, but you should not be drinking and
00:48:11.599 driving.
00:48:12.400 >> True.
00:48:12.960 >> And you should not be having a gun and
00:48:16.960 mishandling it just like a car.
00:48:19.440 >> Right. And we had uh Jeff Smith on the
00:48:22.319 podcast before. He’s a firearms
00:48:24.400 instructor. He’s just extremely
00:48:26.559 experienced and he says again and again,
00:48:29.359 "When I train you, I’m training you so
00:48:32.319 that you hopefully never have to use
00:48:34.720 your weapon. You never have to pull it
00:48:36.720 out." And I think that’s the right
00:48:38.240 attitude to have, but you’re still
00:48:40.319 entitled to have it.
00:48:41.280 >> But then look at it. You’re a sitting
00:48:42.720 duck if you’re not holding a gun. But
00:48:45.040 you know the I don’t know just like
00:48:47.040 you’ve talked about before
00:48:49.359 and I saw a video once where these
00:48:51.839 people were police officers in training
00:48:54.319 and somebody came in and they had their
00:48:55.839 guns in front of them and someone came
00:48:57.359 in and was like choo like like fake
00:48:59.760 shooting and they all like
00:49:01.520 >> they’re stunned emotionally.
00:49:04.240 And so I I think you do have less
00:49:10.319 shootings if you think you’re going to
00:49:12.160 walk in somewhere and you know that
00:49:14.720 everyone’s going to be able to shoot
00:49:15.920 you. I mean, how many shootings have
00:49:17.440 been at NAS uh conventions?
00:49:20.079 >> Yeah, I don’t know the stats on that,
00:49:21.280 but I’m thinking probably not many.
00:49:23.520 >> I don’t think there’s a lot. We need to
00:49:25.520 look at that. How many shootings have
00:49:26.880 been at NRA conventions? I mean, you
00:49:29.520 know, you’re going to get shot.
00:49:32.720 Yeah, I I would think somebody doesn’t
00:49:34.559 make it out of that alive.
00:49:36.960 >> But I, you know, for the people that do
00:49:38.720 it,
00:49:39.680 >> I don’t know that making it out alive
00:49:42.480 >> that do the shootings. I don’t think
00:49:44.000 that making it out alive is is really
00:49:47.839 >> a goal for them or
00:49:49.040 >> No, I think that it’s the most amount of
00:49:50.559 people that they can shoot before
00:49:51.920 they’re killed. But I think if you go to
00:49:53.760 an NRA convention will be shortlived.
00:49:56.720 >> Yeah. Yeah.
00:49:58.480 >> But how do you bridge that gap between
00:50:00.480 mental illness? That’s where it always
00:50:02.000 goes back to.
00:50:02.960 >> But is it always mental illness? And
00:50:04.720 they say that so much and it always
00:50:06.640 comes back to that. I don’t think it’s
00:50:08.000 always mental illness. I mean, I guess
00:50:09.839 >> Well, I mean, everybody’s mentally ill.
00:50:11.520 >> You got to be somewhat ill to pull out a
00:50:13.920 gun and shoot a lot of people.
00:50:15.520 >> Sometimes it’s Come on. Let’s just be
00:50:17.200 real. It’s not It’s It’s a set up.
00:50:20.079 >> Yeah.
00:50:20.480 >> I mean, it’s it’s not propaganda. It’s
00:50:23.040 not meaning now. I’m not saying it’s
00:50:26.000 fake. What I’m saying is it’s not
00:50:28.960 politically motivated and it’s not
00:50:31.280 coming from a bigger source.
00:50:33.280 >> I think that is a very real possibility,
00:50:35.839 >> you know, and they say, "Oh, it’s just
00:50:37.359 this random person." I
00:50:40.880 There it goes again. I You don’t know
00:50:44.160 what they’re doing. You don’t know what
00:50:46.240 people are doing. And yes, there could
00:50:48.160 just be the random psycho that goes in
00:50:50.480 there and kills a bunch of people
00:50:51.520 because they’re pissed off because
00:50:53.359 they’re a a trans or because there’s a
00:50:56.160 lot of trans that are
00:50:57.280 >> Yeah,
00:50:57.760 >> they say more history. More men than
00:50:59.920 women though do the killings.
00:51:02.240 >> Um I don’t know if that’s the
00:51:03.359 testosterone or what’s happening, but
00:51:07.839 I don’t think we’re ever going to fully
00:51:10.800 stop the
00:51:12.640 shootings. I think we could have more
00:51:14.319 security, but then how do you live your
00:51:15.680 life? No, I agree with you. I think you
00:51:18.240 you have to
00:51:20.880 sort of put that aside, the fear of
00:51:22.960 that. We can’t live in fear, right?
00:51:25.119 >> No, you can’t. I mean, look at the Vegas
00:51:27.359 shooting. They said that that was
00:51:29.119 motivated by gun sales and it was
00:51:31.760 somebody from, you know, Saudi Arabia or
00:51:34.079 something like that. But then it’s like,
00:51:35.599 here’s this guy that they blame it on
00:51:37.359 that’s dead inside of there and they’re
00:51:38.960 like, there’s no way. There were
00:51:40.240 multiple shooters. I mean, at the end of
00:51:42.240 the day, just like with Charlie and all
00:51:43.760 of this, we’re not going to get rid of
00:51:45.119 guns. So, if you’re on here thinking
00:51:46.559 that people are going to get rid of
00:51:47.680 guns, they’re not. Is there going to be
00:51:51.200 motivation to kill other people always?
00:51:53.839 I mean, I wasn’t alive during the Middle
00:51:57.520 Ages, but you see all these movies and
00:51:59.200 people are killing each other
00:52:00.160 constantly, right?
00:52:01.280 >> They’re constantly killing each other,
00:52:02.559 whether it’s poison or, you know, that’s
00:52:05.040 why they used to clink the glasses or
00:52:06.800 whatever. It’s
00:52:07.359 >> Icane powder.
00:52:09.200 >> What?
00:52:09.839 >> No, sorry. That’s the princess bride.
00:52:12.880 didn’t didn’t didn’t what’s his Facebook
00:52:15.200 >> Robin. Yeah, that was that was one of
00:52:16.800 his movies. Great movie.
00:52:18.640 >> I don’t agree with Rob Reiner, but great
00:52:20.240 movie. [laughter]
00:52:21.920 I don’t know what what what frustrates
00:52:23.839 me is the the
00:52:27.119 all the con not that there’s the
00:52:29.280 conspiracy theories, but there’s so much
00:52:31.760 that’s left open that the only way you
00:52:35.119 can fill the gap is with trying to
00:52:37.599 figure it out because they’re so not
00:52:40.400 forthright with information about
00:52:42.400 shootings, about the Vegas shooting,
00:52:44.160 about, you know, these other things that
00:52:46.079 it leaves room for quote unquote
00:52:48.240 conspiracy theories, but they’re not
00:52:50.240 telling us things. Well, the thing of it
00:52:51.839 is too is you look at these news. I was
00:52:54.079 watching Tucker Oh, no. It was um
00:52:57.920 Joe Rogan and he was showing
00:53:03.520 showing a comedian. I can’t remember his
00:53:05.520 name at the moment where every single
00:53:08.480 news he had about 20 news shows on and
00:53:12.079 they’re all saying the same thing.
00:53:13.680 >> Oh, right. Right.
00:53:14.720 >> And you could control it more when you
00:53:17.520 didn’t have so much social media. So,
00:53:18.880 you literally would come out and say,
00:53:20.079 "This is what happened. Everyone’s
00:53:21.920 saying the same thing. The newspaper
00:53:23.520 saying the same thing. It’s the same
00:53:24.960 owner who’s saying whatever." When you
00:53:27.040 have social media, you have these I
00:53:28.240 mean, this one lady the other day,
00:53:30.160 Candice, she uh went out and talked to
00:53:33.839 Erica and I could tell she was talking
00:53:36.640 to us in Morris Code cuz she was
00:53:38.640 blinking so much. And then you got the
00:53:41.280 people that are like, "Yes, that’s
00:53:42.800 true." And there’s just so much wild
00:53:47.599 coyote crap going on that nobody knows
00:53:51.040 what the truth is. And you know what?
00:53:52.319 The people that do this crap, they love
00:53:55.359 that cuz it’s distractions.
00:53:57.200 >> See, but that’s what I I appreciate
00:53:59.280 about
00:54:00.640 >> me.
00:54:01.920 >> I appreciate it about you. Yes. but also
00:54:05.200 uh Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens when
00:54:08.720 they’re
00:54:10.240 on their platform on their podcast,
00:54:13.359 they’re not saying this is not what
00:54:15.920 happened. This is what happened. They’re
00:54:18.240 saying they’re saying this happened, but
00:54:20.720 doesn’t that raise this question, this
00:54:22.559 question, and this question, and they
00:54:24.000 get attacked by like Ben Shapiro saying,
00:54:27.760 well, they’re just, you know, dangerous
00:54:30.240 conspiracy theorists and and they
00:54:32.720 shouldn’t be doing that.
00:54:33.599 >> But don’t you think there’s a book that
00:54:34.720 they all know like you sound like this
00:54:37.200 straight, honest, sturdy person while
00:54:40.319 you sound like the wacko? I mean,
00:54:43.040 there’s not psychologists out there
00:54:44.559 going, "Hey, you be this person. We know
00:54:46.880 if you’re this.
00:54:47.680 >> We said it earlier. Good cop, bad cop.
00:54:49.599 >> Yes.
00:54:50.559 >> Yeah.
00:54:51.040 >> I mean,
00:54:52.559 >> I think that’s what’s going on, but even
00:54:55.119 if you don’t think that’s what’s going
00:54:56.880 on,
00:54:57.200 >> I mean, I like Tucker, but at the same
00:54:59.040 time,
00:55:00.480 >> he’s a mouthpiece and he’s way up there
00:55:02.559 just like all the rest. And if the
00:55:04.640 powers that be didn’t want them to be,
00:55:07.520 they wouldn’t be.
00:55:08.480 >> Separate that for me for just a minute.
00:55:10.720 the the whole good cop bad cop and them
00:55:13.359 being on the same side of things in the
00:55:15.520 end. I agree and don’t where do you
00:55:18.960 stand? I agree with their approach
00:55:21.280 Tucker and Candace saying I think you’ve
00:55:23.440 got to ask these questions. I think you
00:55:25.599 know if if that doesn’t sound right with
00:55:27.599 the narrative I think we’re entitled to
00:55:30.000 ask questions and and say that that
00:55:32.960 doesn’t sound right. I mean
00:55:34.400 >> yes but that might be all the part same
00:55:36.240 team. It might be.
00:55:37.359 >> I mean, we could be sitting here and you
00:55:38.640 might not be saying anything and we want
00:55:40.640 to get people to like me and I’m like,
00:55:42.319 Ken, come on. Let’s be real. Don’t you
00:55:44.640 think you need to ask questions to the
00:55:46.319 judge and the jury and d and you’re like
00:55:50.240 this bad guy where you’re like, "No, I
00:55:52.720 don’t have [laughter] to ask anything."
00:55:54.400 And then like we plan this and I know
00:55:56.960 then then I’m sounding like a crazy
00:55:58.400 person. It just it’s too much.
00:56:00.319 >> That’s the conspiracy theory. That’s
00:56:02.799 really the conspiracy theory. But I
00:56:04.559 don’t think that it’s it’s outside the
00:56:06.000 realm of possibility. And I think if
00:56:07.520 we’re not considering that, it’s a
00:56:10.000 mistake. But what I do appreciate I
00:56:12.960 don’t appreciate
00:56:15.280 people like Ben Shapiro saying that
00:56:18.640 Tucker Carlson is dangerous for asking
00:56:21.040 the questions and giving platforms.
00:56:23.119 >> Ben Shapiro, he’s a he’s a narcissist.
00:56:25.760 But but what I what I don’t like is I
00:56:28.880 don’t like the fact that they’re trying
00:56:30.640 to shut people down who have a counter
00:56:33.440 voice. I think you open up the counter
00:56:36.240 voice. I think you ask the questions and
00:56:37.920 I think any party, any industry that is
00:56:41.839 not subject to scrutiny, again this goes
00:56:44.640 back to the immunity thing with immunity
00:56:46.480 for corporations. Correct.
00:56:47.839 >> If they’re not subject to scrutiny, then
00:56:50.559 that’s a dangerous situation. And if you
00:56:52.720 can’t if you can’t doubt your leaders,
00:56:54.960 if you can’t doubt your own party, if
00:56:57.280 you can’t not like what Trump said,
00:57:00.079 that’s dangerous.
00:57:01.040 >> But who’s doing that really? Is it them?
00:57:03.280 Or is it us? Who’s doing that? Are we
00:57:06.319 like, "Woohoo, we’re on this side." Did
00:57:08.400 Candace really say that we can’t go and
00:57:10.240 listen to TPUSA?
00:57:11.599 >> No. I mean, yes, TPUSA, those guys were
00:57:14.400 saying, you know, Candace is crazy, but
00:57:16.319 it’s like,
00:57:18.400 who really
00:57:20.640 are the ones that
00:57:24.400 put their I don’t know.
00:57:27.520 I almost want to say their thumb to stop
00:57:29.440 stuff. It’s It’s their followers and
00:57:31.760 they’re like, "How dare you?" It’s like
00:57:33.920 I love conservative aunt and it’s like I
00:57:36.160 watch his stuff all the time and the
00:57:39.599 thing that he was talking about is like
00:57:41.599 you could have someone that goes oh aunt
00:57:43.280 I support you blah blah blah blah blah
00:57:44.880 you’re so wonderful and then the next
00:57:47.119 day he does something to support Candace
00:57:49.680 or he does something you’re a piece of d
00:57:52.960 it’s like bipolar
00:57:54.559 >> right
00:57:55.040 >> it’s like people act so bipolar and
00:57:59.839 you want to say
00:58:02.079 Hey,
00:58:03.599 relax. It’s not like a pingpong ball
00:58:06.079 machine. There’s there people can have
00:58:08.079 different opinions.
00:58:08.799 >> One or the other. Ever. It’s not ever
00:58:11.200 one or the other.
00:58:13.040 >> Yep. And so anyways, it’s a shame with
00:58:16.000 all of the shootings. It’s it’s sad that
00:58:19.119 it’s not going to stop. I believe that
00:58:21.520 through prayer, we can try to protect
00:58:23.680 ourselves, our family to be more
00:58:25.520 enlightened on how we can do that.
00:58:28.240 Through prayer, through seeing also Yes.
00:58:31.920 How can we try to fix this situation?
00:58:35.040 >> Yeah. And in the end, we have to
00:58:40.160 counsel our families. We have to counsel
00:58:43.680 them in prayer and seeking God through
00:58:46.319 it all. God’s there in the the good and
00:58:49.599 the bad. And that’s what’s important for
00:58:52.960 us as Christians is to to seek God
00:58:55.440 regardless.
00:58:57.040 >> Yeah.
00:58:57.599 >> All right. What do you got next? Well,
00:59:00.079 another tragedy, uh, and this was the,
00:59:04.160 uh, the NASCAR world. Yeah. Feeling this
00:59:06.720 the most. Greg Biffle and his family on
00:59:09.280 that private airplane that crashed.
00:59:11.359 >> It’s so sad. It, it, it’s so sad. And
00:59:15.119 yet, I feel like so many famous people
00:59:17.839 have passed because of personal aircraft
00:59:22.640 or, you know, a helicopter with
00:59:25.920 >> Kobe. Kobe. And that’s a funny story. I
00:59:29.200 mean, not him dying was a funny story.
00:59:31.599 >> I’m glad you clarified.
00:59:32.880 >> No, I I met Kobe’s wife and I did not
00:59:35.040 know who Kobe Bryant was at the time.
00:59:37.651 [laughter]
00:59:38.640 And it this was years ago and we were at
00:59:42.480 a spa together and she was in the
00:59:45.359 waiting room and
00:59:47.760 I said, she asked me what I did for a
00:59:49.599 living and then I said, "Oh, what do you
00:59:51.440 do?" And she said, "Oh, I’m an atome
00:59:53.680 wife. my husband’s a famous a basketball
00:59:56.319 player. And I was like, "Oh, okay. Who’s
00:59:58.559 your husband?" And she told me Kobe
00:59:59.760 Bryant. And I was like,
01:00:01.040 >> "I don’t have any clue who that is
01:00:02.799 because [laughter] just don’t watch
01:00:04.720 anything sport-wise." And I had to
01:00:08.079 remember his name
01:00:10.319 >> and come out and be like, "Bobby Bryant,
01:00:11.680 Kobe Bryant, Kobe Bryant. Don’t forget
01:00:13.119 the name. Don’t forget the name." And I
01:00:14.799 called you and I’m like, "Do you know
01:00:15.839 somebody by Kobe Bryant?" You’re like,
01:00:17.280 "Yes, why?" [laughter]
01:00:19.920 I looked it up and I put on my readers.
01:00:22.799 There’s many people that have died in
01:00:24.480 these private aircraft and I would like
01:00:27.760 to name some of them. Paul Walker, but
01:00:29.839 he died in a car crash, but it’s worth
01:00:31.839 mentioning.
01:00:34.000 Um,
01:00:36.880 let’s go back. Buddy Holly,
01:00:38.960 >> right?
01:00:39.359 >> Richie Valins.
01:00:40.720 >> They were on the same plane.
01:00:41.599 >> Uhhuh. Uhhuh. The Big Bopper.
01:00:43.599 >> All three on the same plane.
01:00:44.880 >> Yep.
01:00:45.200 >> That was the day the music died. A lot
01:00:46.720 of people don’t realize that.
01:00:47.839 >> Paty Klein, she died in a plane crash in
01:00:50.720 Tennessee during bad weather. John
01:00:52.319 Denver,
01:00:53.119 >> right?
01:00:54.640 >> Um Jim, I don’t know who this is.
01:00:58.880 Leonard Skard members, Charter Plane ran
01:01:01.040 out of fuel in Mississippi,
01:01:02.480 >> right?
01:01:04.160 >> You know, they’ve honestly taken some of
01:01:05.920 the most influential voices out of music
01:01:08.160 and more. It’s really sad.
01:01:10.160 >> Yeah. Um
01:01:11.200 >> there was a years and years ago there
01:01:12.720 was a uh a professional golfer named
01:01:15.200 Payne Stewart and he was famous because
01:01:17.280 he he was a very good golfer but he
01:01:20.000 would dress in the NFL colors every
01:01:22.799 tournament
01:01:23.760 >> he would have he had was licensed by the
01:01:25.599 NFL so he might wear a Bears outfit you
01:01:28.559 know Bears colors if the Bears were
01:01:30.240 doing well or you know something else
01:01:32.240 like that and he was on a private jet
01:01:34.880 and it was in the news because it was
01:01:38.960 flying over the United States and they
01:01:42.000 just completely lost contact with it.
01:01:44.160 But they were tracking it on radar and
01:01:45.760 it just kept flying and flying and
01:01:47.520 flying until it eventually crashed, ran
01:01:49.280 out of gas and crashed. And I guess at
01:01:51.280 that one they said that there was
01:01:53.359 something that happened with the cabin
01:01:54.640 pressurization and all people on board,
01:01:57.280 you know, died and it just kept flying.
01:01:59.787 [clears throat]
01:01:59.839 >> That was a really weird one.
01:02:00.960 >> Grabbing my water. It’s it’s an issue
01:02:05.200 with smaller private jets, but it’s not
01:02:09.440 just that because commercial airlines, I
01:02:12.400 mean,
01:02:13.040 >> so what do people have to do to protect
01:02:14.400 themselves legally? Like if I know
01:02:16.160 there’s lawsuits and stuff when there’s
01:02:17.599 accidents and things like that. So if
01:02:20.880 you know this particular person that
01:02:22.880 just passed yesterday, the NASCAR,
01:02:25.280 what’s his name again? I’m sorry.
01:02:26.400 >> Greg Biffle.
01:02:27.119 >> Greg. So, Greg and his family, if they
01:02:28.880 own that, um, how does that work
01:02:31.599 exactly? Who are you suing? If there is
01:02:33.760 suing, is it is it like a maintenance
01:02:36.079 company that maintains the airplane? If
01:02:38.559 you were to go on a, you know, most
01:02:40.079 people don’t own their own uh, private
01:02:42.160 plane and they’re not flying on a
01:02:44.160 private plane, but let’s say you are
01:02:45.520 flying on a private plane or you get on
01:02:47.680 an airline, when you buy those tickets,
01:02:49.920 are you waving your rights to money if
01:02:52.079 something were to happen? Can you ex
01:02:54.160 tell us a little bit more what our
01:02:55.520 rights are legally? Yeah. So, it’s
01:02:57.839 different with with commercial airlines
01:02:59.760 and with with private uh planes because
01:03:02.559 commercial airlines, it’s almost
01:03:04.400 exclusively going to be the airline
01:03:06.240 that’s liable. They they own everything.
01:03:08.480 They control everything. There is so
01:03:11.359 much redundancy and procedures that they
01:03:13.920 are required to follow by the FAA that
01:03:17.039 there’s something that they likely
01:03:19.440 missed and did wrong and they will
01:03:21.280 likely be the responsible parties. When
01:03:24.000 it comes to private planes, they say
01:03:26.480 that you have to follow the
01:03:28.640 investigation. Period. You can’t name
01:03:31.200 who you’re suing and who’s responsible
01:03:33.359 too early. You have to let the FAA and
01:03:35.920 the the uh National Transportation
01:03:38.160 Safety Board do their investigation and
01:03:40.400 then you you go off of that because they
01:03:42.720 will determine. It can be pilot error.
01:03:45.359 It can be uh poor maintenance. It can be
01:03:48.160 the owner. It could be the charter
01:03:50.720 company. There’s so many different
01:03:52.400 things. So these charter companies, like
01:03:54.400 let’s say you’re on Hawaiian helicopter
01:03:57.359 rides over Yeah. looking at the
01:03:59.440 volcanoes or whatever,
01:04:01.119 >> and you crash, you could try and go and
01:04:04.319 sue them, but they could say, "Oh, no,
01:04:06.160 no, we it was due to pilot error and
01:04:09.280 this guy was a contractor."
01:04:12.640 >> Yeah.
01:04:12.960 >> But what if that contractor didn’t have
01:04:14.559 insurance? So the helicopter company is
01:04:17.520 required to make sure that who they’re
01:04:19.280 hiring has the right credentials. do a
01:04:22.000 negligent supervision, negligent
01:04:24.160 training and retention kind of claim. Um
01:04:27.039 because you you’d want to make sure that
01:04:29.359 the the corporation is primarily
01:04:32.000 responsible. Um but it again, you would
01:04:35.520 have to follow the evidence and if the
01:04:37.119 evidence pointed just to pilot error,
01:04:40.720 then then that’s where it is. But
01:04:43.359 there’s got to be some type of training
01:04:46.400 and supervision element to that as well.
01:04:49.200 So what happened and I’m not going to go
01:04:50.880 over the 911 thing because there’s a lot
01:04:52.400 of conspiracy with that. But let’s say
01:04:53.760 you’re on a plane and there’s a
01:04:55.280 terrorist attack and how does that plan
01:04:57.839 pan out? And so the plane now crash
01:05:00.240 crashes because of a terrorist attack.
01:05:02.400 Is that nobody gets anything then?
01:05:04.319 >> Yeah. So that that comes up and we you
01:05:06.319 know getting back to contracts that are
01:05:08.480 written. Uh there’s a lot of times in
01:05:11.920 contracts and and probably on the the
01:05:13.920 backs of our t well they don’t have
01:05:15.280 backs of tickets any longer but you know
01:05:17.760 there’s probably small print on your
01:05:19.760 phone
01:05:20.160 >> in the e ticket that says that they’re
01:05:22.480 not responsible for quote unquote acts
01:05:24.720 of god and so that’s their out
01:05:27.599 >> but how is a terrorist attack an act of
01:05:29.119 god like argument they let them on the
01:05:32.400 plane they didn’t secure that
01:05:33.920 >> it’s not black and white that’s going to
01:05:35.680 be their argument so the person bringing
01:05:39.440 the the lawsuit would say, "Yeah, you
01:05:42.079 had an obligation. You knew that we were
01:05:44.319 in danger. We were vulnerable. You had
01:05:46.480 an obligation to keep us safe." Their
01:05:49.440 defense is that was an act of God. We
01:05:51.920 couldn’t
01:05:52.559 >> So, can you sell could you sue TSA for
01:05:55.039 allowing them to bring on a bomb or a
01:05:56.799 gun or something like that?
01:05:58.079 >> So, that’s a possibility as well. You
01:05:59.920 get into another area of immunity. And I
01:06:03.039 haven’t looked at at TSA specifically,
01:06:05.200 but there’s sovereign immunity. And
01:06:07.119 that’s interesting because I find it
01:06:09.119 interesting anyway from [laughter] being
01:06:10.480 in the law. Immunity stems from
01:06:15.599 the king of England, believe it or not,
01:06:18.160 years and years and years back. And
01:06:20.559 immunity comes from the concept that
01:06:23.280 quote unquote the king can do no wrong.
01:06:26.079 So you could never sue the king. When we
01:06:28.880 founded our country, we brought that
01:06:31.119 concept over and turned it into
01:06:33.200 sovereign immunity where the government
01:06:35.599 cannot be sued before anybody says,
01:06:38.319 "Wait a minute. I hear about lawsuits
01:06:39.680 against government all the time." The
01:06:41.680 government cannot be sued unless they
01:06:44.319 specifically carve out laws that say,
01:06:46.400 "Okay, in this area you can sue the
01:06:49.039 government." So, the default rule is
01:06:51.359 sovereign immunity. But we’ve made
01:06:53.680 inroads where there’s so many different
01:06:55.359 areas where if the government does this.
01:06:57.440 If they’re negligent here, we can sue
01:06:59.200 for that. That’s where we get past
01:07:01.599 sovereign immunity. So, I haven’t looked
01:07:03.440 at TSA, but that would be an issue for
01:07:05.280 me that I’d have to look at if somebody
01:07:07.520 contacted us about that. Is there
01:07:09.599 immunity for TSA in letting people
01:07:12.240 through the the safety barriers? I would
01:07:15.359 think not. I would think that they are
01:07:17.119 they are responsible. They have an
01:07:18.559 obligation to do their job and to do it
01:07:20.799 responsibly
01:07:21.440 >> because once again it goes back to what
01:07:23.119 you’re saying. If you can’t be sued by
01:07:24.559 it, where are they holding that
01:07:26.640 standard?
01:07:27.119 >> Where’s the responsibility? How do you
01:07:28.799 get them to be better? I mean, if they
01:07:31.359 let somebody on with a shoe bomb, they
01:07:33.760 get better by making us all take our
01:07:36.240 shoes off. Same same concept. They’ve
01:07:39.440 got to get better. They’ve have to make
01:07:41.280 sure that things don’t get through.
01:07:45.039 >> All right. So, we don’t know who the who
01:07:48.880 Greg’s family, the ones that are living,
01:07:51.280 because there were seven people that
01:07:52.640 died.
01:07:53.200 >> Yeah.
01:07:53.920 >> Who’s responsible, whose plane that was,
01:07:55.839 who was
01:07:56.400 >> No, there will be a full-blown
01:07:57.599 investigation. The the NTSB investigates
01:08:00.720 all of those, and they’re actually
01:08:02.559 phenomenal at their job of of putting
01:08:05.839 planes back together. I mean, bit by
01:08:08.240 bit, and they’ll they’ll recreate how
01:08:11.359 the plane actually physically looks in a
01:08:13.920 hanger or something. They take all the
01:08:15.440 pieces and they’ll hang them so they
01:08:17.198 recreate this plane so they can find out
01:08:20.080 what part failed, what what went wrong,
01:08:22.560 what hit where, what was it that, you
01:08:25.279 know,
01:08:26.799 the the recorders, the the, you know,
01:08:29.120 voice recorders, the data recorders, all
01:08:31.439 of that. And they really do a good job
01:08:33.198 of of putting that back together,
01:08:34.799 piecing it together so that the people
01:08:36.799 who have a right to pursue know who to
01:08:40.080 pursue.
01:08:41.439 >> And I think that that’s a good right to
01:08:43.120 have. I think, you know, as much as
01:08:45.439 people a lot of a lot of people will
01:08:47.600 say, "I would never sue or I would never
01:08:49.279 be that person because it’s just an
01:08:50.719 accident." But if we’re not suing and
01:08:52.399 we’re not making somebody responsible,
01:08:53.920 because unfortunately the only way to
01:08:56.080 make big corporations or people
01:08:58.238 responsible is having to pay.
01:09:00.399 >> Yeah. You hit them where it hurts. You
01:09:01.839 hit them in the wallet.
01:09:03.839 Absolutely.
01:09:05.198 >> Yeah. And it’s interesting too because
01:09:07.198 when it comes to
01:09:10.238 car accidents and and injuries that that
01:09:13.600 are more regular that we handle, the
01:09:17.198 focus is more on the compensation for
01:09:20.158 our clients. When you get to plane
01:09:23.439 crashes and the the families of of
01:09:26.479 victims of plane crashes, so much of
01:09:28.960 that focus for them emotionally is on
01:09:31.439 the why. Why did it happen?
01:09:34.479 Yeah, of course. I I I can see that.
01:09:37.520 >> Yeah,
01:09:37.920 >> I can see why, you know, why would this
01:09:40.319 happen? Cuz you’re trying to, you know,
01:09:44.080 you’re trying to wrap it up like a nice
01:09:46.238 bone.
01:09:46.560 >> Yeah. I mean, we all have experience
01:09:48.399 driving cars. If somebody’s involved in
01:09:50.158 a t-bone accident, the the why question
01:09:53.198 would be, okay, who had the the green
01:09:55.440 light? Why did that happen? But that’s
01:09:57.679 something that we can answer or at least
01:10:00.239 argue fairly quickly and directly and
01:10:02.640 people understand that when it comes to
01:10:04.480 plane crashes, there’s a lot of of
01:10:08.320 just mystery.
01:10:09.440 >> Yeah.
01:10:09.920 >> About why it happened. So that’s that’s
01:10:11.440 really the focus for for those people.
01:10:13.360 >> Prayers go out to them. I’ve heard go
01:10:15.360 prayers go out to all the shooting
01:10:16.960 victims last month.
01:10:18.719 >> Without a doubt.
01:10:19.440 >> So we have a recommendation before we
01:10:21.360 shut it down. And it’s it’s kind of an
01:10:23.199 intense movie. Mind you, there is one
01:10:25.600 scene that has to be blocked out. I
01:10:27.199 think there’s like a
01:10:28.320 >> a girl in some magazine or something
01:10:30.640 like that. It’s pretty tame, I would
01:10:33.120 say. And um but it’s a it’s a
01:10:37.440 it’s a really deep movie.
01:10:38.880 >> Yeah, I think so.
01:10:39.840 >> So,
01:10:40.640 >> it’s called The Holdovers, and it stars
01:10:43.440 Paul Giamotti, which I I he’s a good
01:10:46.080 actor. I really uh enjoy the work that
01:10:48.640 he does. And it takes place in like 1970
01:10:53.199 at a very exclusive
01:10:56.320 boys boarding school in the in the
01:10:58.320 northeast. And so they’re, you know, a
01:11:00.640 bunch of rich kids. And it’s not a
01:11:03.040 holiday movie, but it takes place at
01:11:05.600 holiday times at Christmas time because
01:11:08.239 the holdovers, quote unquote, holdovers
01:11:11.440 are the kids that don’t have uh a way to
01:11:16.239 get home or you know something going on
01:11:18.880 at home. They have to stay at school.
01:11:21.440 And Paul Giamatti is the teacher who’s
01:11:24.800 assigned to stay with them. And there’s
01:11:26.560 one other person at the school, the
01:11:28.560 cook, who’s assigned to stay with them.
01:11:30.640 They’re all the the the small group of
01:11:32.400 people are the holdovers through the the
01:11:34.159 holidays.
01:11:34.960 >> But in the end, what what’s the purpose
01:11:36.560 of the movie to prove?
01:11:38.080 >> So, it comes down to and they’re
01:11:43.520 the characters are kind of nasty in the
01:11:46.640 beginning. A lot of them have issues.
01:11:48.640 And in the end, it boils down to
01:11:53.040 doing the right thing regardless of
01:11:55.440 whether it’s easy, regardless of whether
01:11:59.760 it helps you and your career or your
01:12:03.679 your school career, whatever. In the
01:12:06.159 end, do the right thing.
01:12:07.280 >> Yeah.
01:12:07.920 >> Even if it costs you.
01:12:09.280 >> Absolutely. And that’s that’s what this
01:12:10.640 >> It’s a good message. Yeah.
01:12:12.159 >> It’s an enjoyable movie. The acting’s
01:12:14.239 good. The story lines are really good.
01:12:16.560 All right.
01:12:17.679 >> Yeah, that was fun. I I we recommend
01:12:19.840 that one. It was a good one.
01:12:20.880 >> Oh, and by the way, merry Christmas
01:12:22.960 because it will be happening before we
01:12:25.520 are back to see you guys.
01:12:26.880 >> Yeah, we’ll have to come back for a post
01:12:28.560 Christmas wrap-up. Absolutely.
