Lightning McQueen, Scripture by Number & a Father’s Legacy: Gordon Wickert | Cross Examined Ep. 14

00:00:00.160 Welcome to Cross-examine with the
00:00:01.600 Gerbers. We are here today with my hubby
00:00:04.160 Ken Gerber.
00:00:05.200 >> Hey everyone
00:00:09.440 >> and the Gordon Wickard from Hope and
00:00:13.280 Numbers. Thank you for coming.
00:00:14.559 >> Thank you so much. It’s an honor to be
00:00:16.000 here. Can’t wait to get into it. Let’s
00:00:18.400 go.
00:00:18.800 >> So Gordon, we have whether you realize
00:00:21.039 it or not, we’ve mentioned you multiple
00:00:22.720 times on prior podcasts here and uh
00:00:26.160 you’re a great friend. You’re you’re
00:00:28.240 just, you know, a wonderful brother in
00:00:30.560 Christ and a solid person to know.
00:00:33.120 You’ve got so much that we want to talk
00:00:35.040 about in your life, but you’re the
00:00:36.719 numbers guy.
00:00:37.760 >> 100%.
00:00:38.559 >> So, just so we’re clear at the outset
00:00:40.480 here, you have a ministry called Hope
00:00:42.800 and Numbers.
00:00:43.600 >> Amen. Yes, sir.
00:00:44.640 >> And you are live on TikTok all the time.
00:00:47.360 You have an app out that is just a
00:00:49.520 phenomenal app that really anybody who
00:00:52.239 likes Bible verses, who wants to see
00:00:54.960 what Bible verse affects them or or
00:00:58.000 speaks to them at any minute of any day,
00:01:00.320 they need to get that app.
00:01:01.760 >> 100%. We’re going to give you an
00:01:03.120 inspiring Bible verse for every minute
00:01:04.959 of the day. So, if you’re having a rough
00:01:06.479 day like now, you could go look at the
00:01:08.240 time. You could open up the app when it
00:01:10.080 happened. You could look and go, "Oh,"
00:01:11.360 and get your mind set on the word right
00:01:13.760 when anything happens. There’s 720
00:01:16.159 minutes in a day. You get 720 amazing
00:01:19.040 Bible verses from the word of God to
00:01:20.640 encourage you, inspire you, uplift you.
00:01:22.720 Whatever you’re going through, that’s
00:01:23.920 where God takes over. That’s the cool
00:01:25.360 part. God takes over and gives you the
00:01:26.720 exact word you needed to hear in that
00:01:28.720 minute. You might be crying, you might
00:01:30.159 be depressed, you might be have joy,
00:01:32.000 it’ll double the joy. Whatever you’re
00:01:33.520 going through, good or bad, God will
00:01:35.600 show up. It’s happened to me thousands
00:01:37.119 of times. And so the app, you can
00:01:38.400 download it for free. But then we jump
00:01:40.159 into the birthdays and we do I’m known
00:01:42.000 as the birthday Bible verse guy. I go on
00:01:44.159 the streets. I go to the anywhere I go.
00:01:45.920 I’m like, "Hey, not to be weird, but but
00:01:48.159 when’s your birthday?" And so that’s
00:01:51.280 you’re in the app, you’re going to find
00:01:52.560 a verse for everyone’s birthday on
00:01:54.320 planet Earth. That’s 8 billion people
00:01:55.840 have a an amazing scripture to encourage
00:01:58.159 you. And you’ll find that it’ll fit your
00:01:59.840 life. And if you research it and read it
00:02:02.000 in context, you’ll be like, "This is
00:02:03.280 really good." And since it’s your
00:02:05.119 birthday, you’ll care. And you’ll
00:02:06.159 remember it a lot better.
00:02:07.840 >> Definitely.
00:02:08.479 >> It’s going to change the world. So
00:02:09.919 that’s my ministry. Hope in Numbers, the
00:02:11.680 acronym because everyone needs a good
00:02:12.959 acronym to remember stuff.
00:02:14.319 >> That’s right.
00:02:14.800 >> That’s in teaching. So hope stands for
00:02:17.120 holding on to promises everywhere in
00:02:20.000 Numbers. So everywhere there’s a number,
00:02:22.239 that’s where hope can be found.
00:02:24.239 >> And did you know the world’s been doing
00:02:25.520 this already? And we just kind of gloss
00:02:28.640 over it in church. When I say 3:16, most
00:02:31.200 Christians could say, "What B? Do you
00:02:33.360 guys know what verse that is?"
00:02:34.160 >> John 3:16.
00:02:34.720 >> John 3:16. For God so loved the world.
00:02:36.800 We just took that same principle. When
00:02:38.640 you see it in a football game or on
00:02:40.560 anywhere you see 316, you think of John
00:02:42.480 and you can quote the verse. We just did
00:02:44.400 that to every other number in the world.
00:02:46.319 Birthdays, license plate, jersey number,
00:02:48.239 receipt totals. So, we took that same
00:02:50.560 principle and just applied it to every
00:02:51.920 number. And you’re able to be
00:02:54.080 encouraged. Literally, I see hundreds
00:02:55.840 and thousands of verses a day. So, I’m
00:02:57.440 like walking in the word every day, even
00:02:59.440 without my Bible.
00:03:00.400 >> We’ll get texts from you randomly
00:03:01.840 throughout the day with a snapshot of
00:03:03.920 the time of day.
00:03:05.120 >> Yes.
00:03:05.680 >> It might be 8:10 in the evening. That’s
00:03:07.920 Megan’s birthday, August 10th. You send
00:03:10.159 a a a snapshot. Hey, it’s 8:10. It’s
00:03:12.720 your birthday time.
00:03:13.599 >> And that’s a creative way that I pray
00:03:14.879 for people. It’s really cool. Like, so
00:03:16.560 when I see 810 or 228 or anybody that I
00:03:20.319 know, if I stumble across the app at
00:03:22.640 that time, I’ll I’ll screenshot and go,
00:03:24.000 "Hey, I’m I’m thinking of you. I’m
00:03:25.519 praying for you." You know what I mean?
00:03:26.640 So, it’s a cool way to remember your
00:03:28.560 friends. So, you can do it to your
00:03:29.680 family members. It’s just a good way to
00:03:32.319 engage in scripture more because it’s
00:03:34.159 key in this culture to keep your mental
00:03:36.560 health to know the word well because
00:03:38.400 it’s a lot of people have Bibles they
00:03:40.000 don’t know what to they just can’t
00:03:41.519 remember it once they leave it the
00:03:43.040 church or the when they’re reading it or
00:03:44.400 in their Bible study. My ministry has
00:03:46.239 helped you to hold on to promises
00:03:48.400 everywhere in your heart. So we got
00:03:51.360 >> and Gordon you’re a pretty positive
00:03:52.720 person. I would say you know we tease
00:03:54.640 him and we’re like this is like being
00:03:56.400 around Elmo like in just that gentle
00:03:58.640 funny Christian way.
00:04:00.720 And because he’s just so innocent, so
00:04:02.720 sweet. I mean, your life hasn’t been
00:04:05.120 perfect
00:04:05.680 >> 100%.
00:04:06.319 >> And so, a lot of people might think,
00:04:08.080 "Oh, it might it’s so easy for you,
00:04:10.239 Gordon. You seem like a a nice guy that
00:04:13.040 probably hasn’t had anything, you know,
00:04:15.680 that you’ve had to pray for to get out
00:04:17.918 of in your life. Your life is probably
00:04:20.798 pretty perfect." And, you know, that’s
00:04:22.639 what people assume when they see a
00:04:24.639 joyous, Christloving person like
00:04:27.199 yourself. And what would you say to
00:04:28.960 that? Would you say you’ve had any
00:04:30.639 tribulation in your life?
00:04:32.560 >> 100%. If you guys know the story in the
00:04:34.560 Bible of Job, he was a godly man and
00:04:36.800 Satan was allowed to just destroy him
00:04:39.759 besides killing him. So, he could do
00:04:41.360 anything he wanted. So, he lost his
00:04:42.960 health. I got diabetes when I was 10,
00:04:46.000 which is a third top killing disease.
00:04:47.759 I’ve had diabetes for 33 years, and
00:04:50.240 that’s been a struggle my whole life.
00:04:51.680 So, I got a medical issue when I was
00:04:53.280 born. I had I had a heart defect where
00:04:55.199 half my heart had to be replaced. my
00:04:56.720 aorta, my pulmonary. I had a crazy open
00:04:59.040 heart surgery when I was 15. I almost
00:05:00.479 died three times from medical. So
00:05:02.479 medical, the devil’s been trying to kill
00:05:03.759 me since I was born. Like literally, you
00:05:06.000 guys might be impressed. A lot of people
00:05:07.520 are impressed by my gift, but God, I
00:05:09.759 think, gave me the gift cuz he’s given
00:05:11.440 it to someone that’s been near death
00:05:13.039 several times. And just that’s just my
00:05:15.680 medical. And then I get married. I have
00:05:18.080 five amazing kids. Uh, one son and four
00:05:21.600 daughters. And but our first kid was
00:05:24.000 healthy. Our second kid, we got the
00:05:25.680 news. His name was Andrew. And they
00:05:27.199 said, we’re in the ultrasound. They’re
00:05:29.520 like, "Hey, your son, it’s a son." And I
00:05:33.120 was like, "No way. I’m going to have a
00:05:34.160 son and a daughter." I was like so
00:05:35.440 happy. And you know, when they’re doing
00:05:37.120 the going over the anatomy of the baby
00:05:39.039 and the womb, well, after they go to the
00:05:41.199 head, they start freaking out and go,
00:05:43.120 "We can’t talk to you anymore. We got to
00:05:44.560 get a doctor." And have you ever been in
00:05:46.240 a sad ultrasound situation where they
00:05:48.800 give you bad news? I didn’t even know.
00:05:51.280 They went over all the anatomy. It’s a
00:05:53.039 boy. And then they came and said, "Your
00:05:54.400 son has 0% chance to live." On uh May
00:05:57.520 7th of 2008, they said, "0% chance to
00:06:00.000 live." And now that I know hope and
00:06:02.400 numbers 5:7, 1 Peter 5:7 says, "To cast
00:06:05.120 your anxiety on God for he cares for
00:06:06.560 you." That’s exactly what we did. We
00:06:08.000 prayed and five days later, they said
00:06:10.880 he’s going to live. So Andrew, they said
00:06:12.880 he wouldn’t live. A miracle happened. He
00:06:15.280 did live and he lived 14 years. So, I
00:06:18.400 got medical issues. And then my son
00:06:19.919 passed away, which caused
00:06:22.960 uh a lot of, you know, grief and sorrow,
00:06:25.280 but I’ve turned it into some hope and
00:06:27.280 joy. We’ll get into that in a second.
00:06:28.400 But then also caused marital issues,
00:06:30.479 which caused a divorce. And we can get
00:06:33.600 in just my life’s not been perfect.
00:06:35.120 You’ll see that it looks perfect is I
00:06:36.800 follow Jesus every day. I I stay
00:06:38.479 positive. I’m staying in the word. I
00:06:40.560 stay encouraged. No one could tell my
00:06:42.560 life is not It’s kind of like Job. I
00:06:45.280 lost a lot. Well, how do you stay
00:06:47.280 positive when you’re feeling like, I
00:06:49.520 just don’t feel like being positive
00:06:50.639 today? Do you ever have that happen
00:06:52.400 where you wake up and you’re like, you
00:06:53.759 know what, I’m just sick of saying
00:06:55.680 versus
00:06:56.639 >> What do you say to people like that that
00:06:58.319 just say, you know what, you don’t, you
00:07:00.479 know, I feel like I wake up so many
00:07:02.479 times and I didn’t get that miracle my
00:07:04.479 trial. That’s the diabetes.
00:07:07.520 >> Diabetes.
00:07:08.240 >> Do you need to check your pump?
00:07:09.680 >> I do. Sorry.
00:07:10.880 >> We don’t want you dying on the podcast.
00:07:12.720 >> I can’t turn that off.
00:07:13.759 >> Do you need a sandwich?
00:07:15.120 >> No. I love you. I can’t turn that off or
00:07:17.280 whatever.
00:07:17.520 >> I asked everybody what their favorite
00:07:19.199 sandwich is.
00:07:20.240 >> True story. So, I’m diabetic type one.
00:07:22.400 My insulin I need right now is 93 units
00:07:25.520 of insulin to get my sugar right. 93
00:07:28.319 freed me from depression. John 9:3 Jesus
00:07:31.280 says, "Why do bad things happen to good
00:07:33.120 people?" The disciples are like, "Why
00:07:34.880 was he born sick?"
00:07:35.759 >> Wait, wait. So, that’s literally the
00:07:37.360 number on your thing right now. And
00:07:39.199 that’s literally the number that you
00:07:40.720 refer to that helps you with the
00:07:42.560 question that she was just asking you
00:07:44.080 about. You can’t plan that.
00:07:45.680 >> It just beeped.
00:07:46.639 >> It just beeped.
00:07:47.520 >> It was like, "Hello, I asked you about
00:07:49.440 depression." That beeped. And now we’re
00:07:52.240 talking about the 93. God was like,
00:07:53.840 "Ding, ding."
00:07:54.560 >> Get into the verse right there.
00:07:56.639 >> Here it is. So, if you’re going through
00:07:58.960 a rough time, this is the verse that
00:08:00.479 freed me from depression. It cured me.
00:08:02.080 When I read this verse, it’s written in
00:08:03.680 red, meaning Jesus said it so he can
00:08:05.599 take it to the bank. And it’s John 9:3.
00:08:08.240 And it says this in context. Jesus is
00:08:10.160 walking with his disciples. Why did this
00:08:11.759 bad thing happen to that guy on the side
00:08:13.199 of the road? He was blind. Why was he
00:08:15.039 born sick? Was it his sin or his
00:08:17.120 parents’ sin? And a lot of us think it’s
00:08:18.960 our sin that causes our kids disability
00:08:20.879 or we did something.
00:08:22.479 >> Jesus in John 9:3, depending on what
00:08:24.720 context you read, I’ll give you three of
00:08:26.160 them.
00:08:26.720 >> But it says it was not his sin. So it’s
00:08:28.879 not my it’s not your kid’s sin. It’s not
00:08:30.879 your sin that caused this bad thing to
00:08:32.719 happen. It’s so God’s glory or God’s
00:08:35.120 weight or God could display his power in
00:08:37.120 your life. And then leading up, my son
00:08:40.320 dies. He loves Lightning McQueen in
00:08:43.120 honor of my son. So that verse freed me.
00:08:44.880 That was my correction of my insulin
00:08:46.240 right now. That verse cured me from
00:08:48.800 depression. And that’s what I use every
00:08:50.240 day. I’m like, bad things happen to good
00:08:51.519 people because it happened to all
00:08:52.320 people. And God’s going to display his
00:08:53.600 power in me today. How can I get up and
00:08:56.080 display his power? And I just I look in
00:08:58.880 the mirror. I I get ready and I’m just
00:09:00.480 like, Lord, I pray like use me today and
00:09:03.279 he’ll use me. Cuz when my son died, his
00:09:06.320 funeral, I was like, how can I honor my
00:09:08.640 son at his own funeral? like how could
00:09:10.320 we do it? What does he love? At a
00:09:12.560 funeral, you do things kids love, right?
00:09:14.480 You do something. Some will put a
00:09:16.320 balloon in the sky. Some will do this.
00:09:18.000 Some will do that. They’ll have their
00:09:19.120 favorite stuff there. My son loved
00:09:21.680 Lightning McQueen from Cars. He loved
00:09:23.519 it. My son was special needs. He was in
00:09:25.279 a wheelchair. He watched Lightning
00:09:26.480 McQueen probably 10,000 times and it
00:09:29.519 never gets old. It’s an amazing show.
00:09:32.240 The Lord gives us have Lightning come to
00:09:34.480 his funeral. I was like, "No way. That’s
00:09:36.480 a great idea." So I put it on social
00:09:38.480 media.
00:09:40.320 I have over 500 people share my live.
00:09:42.480 The news calls me is like, "Hey, can we
00:09:45.120 find help find you a Lightning McQueen?"
00:09:46.399 I’m like, "Dude, help me." People are
00:09:48.399 posting it in car my son’s funeral.
00:09:51.200 We’ll probably put a picture up. There
00:09:52.560 was four Lightning McQueens. I only
00:09:54.959 wanted one. There was four.
00:09:57.279 >> So amazing.
00:09:58.080 >> And one that came says, "I build these
00:10:00.560 for a living. I’m going to build you one
00:10:01.920 in honor of your son." My car, it’s
00:10:04.640 incredible. It looks like this. It’s got
00:10:06.320 my son’s eyes. It’s got his smile. It’s
00:10:08.160 in honor of Andrew James. We drive it
00:10:10.399 around. So John 9:3 says, "Bad things
00:10:12.480 happen to good people so God’s glory can
00:10:14.000 be shown in it." John 9:5, which is
00:10:16.000 Lightning McQueen’s number, says, So
00:10:18.240 Jesus says, "So while you’re in the
00:10:20.240 world, be the light. Be the light of the
00:10:22.560 world." And so Lightning McQueen,
00:10:25.200 >> the light of the world.
00:10:26.079 >> Be the light of the world. So that
00:10:27.440 people call it coincidence. I call that
00:10:29.120 evidence.
00:10:30.160 >> Yes. I love that.
00:10:31.440 >> My son lived in a Lightning McQueen bed.
00:10:33.440 like a full-on Lightning McQueen bed.
00:10:35.680 And the verse that healed me from
00:10:36.880 depression is Lightning McQueen’s number
00:10:38.480 in context. And I I was writing my book.
00:10:41.600 I have a book called Hope and Numbers. I
00:10:42.880 give you five steps how to memorize. I
00:10:45.200 was writing one Bible verse can cure you
00:10:47.600 if you hear it right and you believe it
00:10:49.279 right and you get it in context. And I
00:10:51.440 go, I’m adding that one. I’m adding John
00:10:53.040 95 to my book. And so it’s in my book,
00:10:54.959 but there’s several other verses.
00:10:56.560 >> Is Lightning Queen’s number 93?
00:10:58.640 >> 95.
00:10:59.360 >> 95. Oh, it’s 95. which is while you’re
00:11:01.680 in the world, be the light of the world.
00:11:03.920 But the context is John 9:3 where Jesus
00:11:06.720 heals the blind man.
00:11:08.480 >> So it’s he’s lightning and it says be
00:11:11.120 the light. And so I drive around. I do
00:11:13.519 birthday parties. I say it can be free
00:11:15.120 or you can make a donation. So some
00:11:16.720 people do free, some people donation. We
00:11:18.640 do kids birthday parties. We do parades.
00:11:21.040 We do I’m going to a an aircraft show.
00:11:23.920 But you can add the car to anything is
00:11:25.440 cool. I’ve taken Santa. My car was his
00:11:28.399 sleigh to deliver kids to the to the
00:11:30.640 needy children. Man, you name it, we’ll
00:11:32.959 bring our car. So, call your boy.
00:11:35.279 >> It’s awesome. Every time I It’s like if
00:11:36.959 we go because Gordon also works for us
00:11:39.839 at Tones and Bones, our nonprofit.
00:11:42.079 >> And every time we’re like, "Oh, we got
00:11:44.160 to go run and get something." And I ride
00:11:45.519 in Gordon’s car. Half the time I’m
00:11:47.839 waiting because somebody’s like, "Can I
00:11:49.600 take a picture? Can I take a picture?"
00:11:51.920 >> Everywhere we go, it’s an extra 5 to 10
00:11:54.240 minutes
00:11:54.640 >> and it’s a conversation starter for you.
00:11:56.640 And that’s what you really love about it
00:11:59.519 because when people come up, you get a
00:12:01.680 chance to ask them what their birthday
00:12:03.120 is.
00:12:03.600 >> Amen.
00:12:04.160 >> And you give them a Bible verse.
00:12:05.680 >> Yep. Can I tell you one story about I’m
00:12:07.680 at the car. So this guy I don’t know
00:12:10.560 this this guy’s at Walmart parking lot.
00:12:12.240 He’s crying in his car. I don’t know
00:12:13.600 this till he gives his I’m going to give
00:12:15.200 a little sneak peek. A baptism at his
00:12:17.040 baptism because he’s about to get
00:12:18.160 baptized. He tells me the story. He’s
00:12:20.800 crying in his car. He’s in Walmart. He’s
00:12:22.720 really sad. He’s like, "Lord, if you’re
00:12:24.160 real, I need a sign." And guess who
00:12:26.639 walks out of Walmart getting their diet
00:12:28.399 Mountain Dew? Your boy. I’m walking out
00:12:32.639 and the guy is like, "I got to go say hi
00:12:34.240 to the guy." He walks up to me. He goes,
00:12:35.839 "Hey, I love your car." I don’t know.
00:12:37.680 He’s crying in his car asking for a sign
00:12:39.519 from God, right?
00:12:40.880 >> And Lightning McQueen is literally
00:12:42.399 there. I was like, "Hey, bro. How’s it
00:12:45.440 going, man? When’s your birthday?" Like
00:12:47.680 I always do, right?
00:12:48.959 >> Not to be weird, but when’s your
00:12:50.160 birthday? His birthday was 531. I’m at
00:12:52.959 his baptism. He goes, "Gordon, can I
00:12:54.480 give you a testimony you’ve never
00:12:55.440 heard?" I’m crying in my cart asking for
00:12:57.200 a sign from God. I don’t believe in him.
00:12:58.720 I want to believe him. He’s atheist. If
00:13:00.880 you if you give me a sign, I’ll believe
00:13:02.160 in you, God. And he meets me and I go,
00:13:04.639 "Dude, when’s your birthday?" And he
00:13:05.920 goes, "531." I go, "You know what Luke
00:13:08.160 5:31 says?" He goes, "No." I go, "Well,
00:13:11.680 I do. Let me tell you. It’s a Luke 5:31.
00:13:14.720 Jesus says this. It’s not the healthy
00:13:17.920 that need a doctor. It’s sick people
00:13:19.680 that need a doctor. I did not come to
00:13:21.600 call those who think they are righteous.
00:13:23.120 I came to those who know they are
00:13:24.320 sinners. So I’m like, "Dude, Jesus came
00:13:26.560 for you." And the dude starts crying. We
00:13:29.600 talk for about 3 hours in the parking
00:13:31.760 lot. My wife texts me. She’s like,
00:13:33.040 "Dude, where are you at?" I go, "I’m not
00:13:35.120 nothing’s going I’m talking to a dude in
00:13:36.399 the parking lot because of the car." He
00:13:39.120 calls me later that he cuz I I led him
00:13:40.959 to the sinner’s prayer. I g he accepted
00:13:43.040 Christ and then he he called me a couple
00:13:45.040 weeks later. Can you baptize me, man? He
00:13:47.200 tells me the story. He’s crying in his
00:13:48.800 car. God, give me a sign that you’re
00:13:50.399 real. And then he meets your boy
00:13:51.920 Lightning McQueen and me and then I give
00:13:54.000 him a verse and he said the verse saved
00:13:55.839 his life
00:13:56.560 >> and you’ve had that kind of thing. Maybe
00:13:58.480 not that exactly, but those types of
00:14:00.880 things again and again and again when
00:14:03.120 you give people this birthday verse,
00:14:05.600 >> it’s there’s 8 billion people and eight
00:14:07.600 billion stories I could go do this to.
00:14:09.600 And so every day on TikTok, I just give
00:14:11.440 one new person revelation on their
00:14:13.680 birthday to give them an easy way to
00:14:15.680 remember more scripture. But then that’s
00:14:17.760 just the tip of the iceberg. I just give
00:14:19.199 you your birthday cuz you love your
00:14:20.880 birthday and you can cry. We love the
00:14:22.480 song. It’s your party. You can cry if
00:14:24.079 you want to. But
00:14:25.360 >> can you sing it, Gordon? Come on.
00:14:26.560 >> It’s my party. I could cry if I want to
00:14:29.600 cry.
00:14:30.320 >> If I want to cry if I want to. You would
00:14:34.480 cry if it happened to
00:14:36.880 >> karaoke at Tones coming soon. Let’s go.
00:14:40.399 >> Okay. So, yeah. Everyone I I realize why
00:14:44.000 how can I get people interested in this?
00:14:45.839 Everybody, they won’t say it, but they
00:14:48.160 love themselves. You just do. You want a
00:14:50.240 birthday present. You want people
00:14:51.600 >> like that, too.
00:14:52.320 >> There’s tons.
00:14:53.040 >> I love myself. I want you to love me.
00:14:56.639 >> I don’t think that’s the kind of song
00:14:57.920 you want to be singing on podcast.
00:14:59.920 >> Was it dirty? I didn’t know.
00:15:02.160 >> Hey,
00:15:03.120 >> sorry, Gordon.
00:15:03.839 >> No, it’s all good. But that was what the
00:15:05.760 Lord gave me. Become known as the
00:15:07.920 birthday Bible verse guy. Even though I
00:15:09.680 do so much more than that. That’s just
00:15:11.040 the intro into my ministry cuz you love
00:15:13.600 your birthday. you know the number,
00:15:15.120 attach it with this a life-changing
00:15:16.800 scripture, right?
00:15:17.760 >> Man, it could change your life forever.
00:15:19.279 And it literally did this to
00:15:21.680 >> I have started keeping track of some.
00:15:24.480 I’ve had kids I’ve had people name their
00:15:26.800 kid. They call me on the day they just
00:15:29.040 had a kid and go, "Gordon, what’s the
00:15:30.399 verse for today? We’re naming our kid."
00:15:31.920 Whatever the verse is kind of flowing
00:15:33.839 with. I’ll tell you one this. My friend
00:15:36.399 Caleb, their kid was born a 99. And I
00:15:40.320 go, Daniel 9:9 says, "God is merciful
00:15:42.880 and forgiving even though we’ve rebelled
00:15:44.480 against him." That’s exactly what it
00:15:45.680 says. Their daughter’s name is mercy.
00:15:47.760 God is merciful.
00:15:50.320 Love it.
00:15:50.720 >> So, I’ve named kids. I’ve blessed people
00:15:53.120 with scripture. And the ministry is so
00:15:55.600 much more. We’re turning every number in
00:15:57.279 the world into scripture to get
00:15:58.800 everyone’s mental health back with the
00:16:00.320 word of God. And you can’t be beaten.
00:16:01.759 >> And back to your app, which is really a
00:16:04.399 great app. I mean, I love it. I think I
00:16:05.839 was one of the first ones. my guy right
00:16:08.000 here, the first subscriber to download
00:16:10.880 and cuz me and the guy that built it. We
00:16:14.000 downloaded first, but you were the you
00:16:15.519 were the first non
00:16:17.199 >> Yes.
00:16:17.759 >> owner of the app.
00:16:19.199 >> But one of the things that I love about
00:16:20.720 it is not only do you have the the verse
00:16:23.759 by every minute, you have the calendar,
00:16:25.360 so you have it by every day. Yeah.
00:16:27.199 >> But you also have the memorization part
00:16:30.160 of it, which you have flashcards in
00:16:32.320 there. Yes. And and I love that. I’ve
00:16:34.240 gone back to that again and again and
00:16:35.680 again to try and learn what you have as
00:16:37.759 the the top 10 most famous verses out
00:16:40.079 there and it’s it works. It’s great.
00:16:42.000 >> Yeah. The flash card. Can I test you on
00:16:43.759 one just for fun?
00:16:44.639 >> Oh, no. No, no.
00:16:45.680 >> Yes. Test it. I haven’t done it in a
00:16:48.160 while.
00:16:48.720 >> You Gordon. You have an electrocution
00:16:51.040 test.
00:16:51.680 >> Oh, dang. I love it.
00:16:53.040 >> All right. Go ahead. I’ll try.
00:16:54.639 >> I’ll give you the one. Uh Romans 8:28.
00:16:59.040 >> It’s in. For we know that in all things,
00:17:00.639 God works for the good of those who love
00:17:02.320 him, who have been called according to
00:17:03.519 his purpose.
00:17:04.079 >> There you go. Boom. He got it. So, the
00:17:05.679 dude is remembering scripture.
00:17:07.760 >> That is because of your app.
00:17:09.679 >> But what’s funny is I have to be honest.
00:17:12.000 I was asking you something about Gordon
00:17:14.480 was at the house and I’m like, "How come
00:17:16.480 it just seems like you don’t have a good
00:17:18.160 memory?" And Gordon’s like, "Well, he
00:17:19.520 did memorize 10 verses."
00:17:21.679 >> We might cover. So, yeah. I love it. So,
00:17:24.799 I wrote a book and my the Lord I’m like,
00:17:26.400 "Lord, how do I get other people to do
00:17:27.599 it?" It’s cool that I do it, but it’s
00:17:29.039 way cooler if other people could do it
00:17:30.480 because I already know how to do it. I
00:17:31.840 want to start blessing people with this
00:17:33.120 gift. And so, it’s the app. It’s the
00:17:35.440 stumbling across verses for minutes. Uh,
00:17:37.679 it’s doing your birthday. But my my goal
00:17:40.080 is not to impress you. It’s to bless
00:17:41.679 you. God told me. I was on a Tik Tok
00:17:43.200 live one time or an Instagram live and I
00:17:45.280 just spit like 500 verses in the live.
00:17:47.280 I’m just like going crazy. And I’m just
00:17:48.880 like I was like, the Lord’s like, "Dude,
00:17:51.039 people probably think you’re cocky, man.
00:17:52.400 People probably think you’re like a
00:17:53.520 Pharisee. You know it all." And I’m
00:17:54.880 like, the Lord’s like, "Dude, I don’t
00:17:56.240 want to come across like that." So
00:17:57.280 hopefully I don’t come across like that.
00:17:58.720 But he told me, "I don’t want to impress
00:18:00.080 you. I’m here to bless you." So if you
00:18:01.440 could learn one or two or five and my
00:18:04.480 number one step, here’s my number one
00:18:05.760 step. Cuz I go, "Hey, you should do
00:18:07.600 this." And they go, "I can’t."
00:18:09.679 >> Right?
00:18:10.720 >> It’s a daunting task. There’s so many
00:18:12.320 verses.
00:18:12.640 >> They tell me why they can’t. Last time I
00:18:14.640 checked, Philippians 4:13, I can do all
00:18:18.400 things through Christ who gives me the
00:18:19.919 strength to do it. You got to have the
00:18:21.360 right attitude that you could do it. I
00:18:23.440 told this guy, he was like 55 years old.
00:18:25.919 I I said, "You could do it." He’s like,
00:18:27.360 "This I swear." He told me to my face,
00:18:29.440 "Only you can do this. This is your
00:18:31.200 gift. No one else could do it." I go,
00:18:32.880 "Dude, I know hundreds of people that do
00:18:34.720 it, but I believe you could do it if you
00:18:36.960 have the right attitude." So, he tried
00:18:38.160 it.
00:18:38.880 >> I challenged him to make a video. He
00:18:41.919 quoted six verses in the video. He I I
00:18:44.960 saw him three years later and he
00:18:46.400 remembered all six of them from the
00:18:48.000 video that he made
00:18:50.080 >> that he the verses that really spoke to
00:18:52.320 him. And so he did it and he still to
00:18:54.559 this day remembers all of them. He
00:18:55.679 started making shirts with the verses on
00:18:57.520 it and he gives them to his youth kids.
00:18:59.200 So like it turned into it’s our attitude
00:19:01.840 is key. So if you don’t have the right
00:19:03.120 attitude, you’re not going to do it.
00:19:04.080 It’s on anything in life.
00:19:05.200 >> Well, and you’re not cocky at all. Like
00:19:07.039 you are literally there’s a difference
00:19:08.640 between somebody that thinks they know
00:19:11.280 something through Christ and they’re
00:19:13.360 just mean about it. And what I love is
00:19:15.360 like even you and Jack, our son Jack,
00:19:17.360 can go back and forth and talk and
00:19:19.440 nobody’s angry. No one’s yelling at each
00:19:21.520 other. You guys can, you know, discuss
00:19:23.840 Bible verses and a lot of people
00:19:26.559 nowadays, you know, with anything, you
00:19:28.640 know, even with the political
00:19:30.400 temperature where we’re at in the
00:19:31.600 country, no one can have a different
00:19:33.280 opinion.
00:19:34.640 >> But you are very, you know, you love to
00:19:36.720 give that blessing of a verse, but
00:19:39.679 you’re not harsh and you’re not mean and
00:19:41.600 you’re just gentle with that.
00:19:43.280 >> Because Jesus said, "How will they know
00:19:44.720 you’re a true disciple?" the way you
00:19:46.160 love one another, not the way you
00:19:47.760 protest, not the way you argue and
00:19:50.880 debate and try to win and it’s turns
00:19:53.760 into sin a lot of time when you do it
00:19:55.280 that way. Sure.
00:19:56.000 >> So the Lord told me it’s John 13:34 and
00:19:59.520 35. How will they know your relatives
00:20:01.120 love people?
00:20:02.400 >> Well, that’s cool. We all know what love
00:20:04.480 means in the world and there’s many
00:20:05.919 definitions. So I memorized the biblical
00:20:08.080 definition of love, which love is
00:20:09.679 patient. Love is kind. It’s not
00:20:11.840 boastful. It’s not envy. It’s not rude.
00:20:14.000 It’s not self-seeking. not easily
00:20:15.520 angered. This one’s really hard for
00:20:17.280 people. Keeps no record of wrong. Good
00:20:20.000 luck with that, right? A lot of people
00:20:22.559 have like if you do it that it always
00:20:25.039 trusts, it always protects, always
00:20:26.559 hopes, always perseveres. That love
00:20:28.320 never fails. If I don’t know if we can
00:20:30.880 put a graphic up, but if you take God’s
00:20:32.320 biblical love, it’s one first
00:20:33.679 Corinthians 13:4. If you take that and
00:20:36.720 turn it upside down, it spells hell.
00:20:39.919 >> Wow.
00:20:40.559 >> Really?
00:20:41.039 >> Yeah. If we could get the image on here.
00:20:42.960 1 Corinthians 13:4, that’s 1 134. You
00:20:47.679 turn that upside down.
00:20:49.440 >> That’s like the trick with the the old
00:20:51.280 calculators when we were in kids.
00:20:54.240 >> But if you catch a revelation on that,
00:20:56.400 it says hell. So if you take God’s love
00:20:58.240 and you’re not patient, it’s hell.
00:21:00.799 You’re not kind, it’s hell. You’re rude,
00:21:03.200 it’s hell. You’re self-seeking. If you
00:21:04.799 take everything I just said, what
00:21:05.760 biblical love is, and you do the
00:21:07.039 opposite, it’s literally hell on earth.
00:21:09.280 That was the first revelation I ever got
00:21:10.799 with hoping to pray.
00:21:11.520 >> That’s fantastic.
00:21:12.320 >> Gordon, what’s the longest verse you
00:21:13.840 know?
00:21:14.960 >> The longest verse I know. That’s a good
00:21:17.520 question.
00:21:20.480 >> I I memorized whole books of the Bible.
00:21:22.400 So like there’s actually
00:21:24.880 >> I’d like to see how long you can like
00:21:26.880 one of the long where people are like,
00:21:28.320 "Wow, he’s still going."
00:21:30.799 >> You we could do it on the podcast. I
00:21:33.360 actually hold I actually hold the world
00:21:35.679 record for quoting James chapter 1 in
00:21:39.120 like a minute and 27 seconds.
00:21:40.640 >> Okay, do it.
00:21:41.520 >> You want me to do it all?
00:21:42.400 >> Yeah. Minute 2. Yep. Do it.
00:21:44.320 >> I got a minute 27 to spare.
00:21:46.240 >> Okay. It’s going to sound like I’m going
00:21:47.919 to go real fast. So, if we want to queue
00:21:50.320 it up. This is, you know, we’re going to
00:21:51.919 break the world record. How do I know
00:21:53.280 it’s a world record?
00:21:54.320 >> How?
00:21:55.039 >> Cuz who else in the world is trying to
00:21:57.039 quote I have no idea. I just made that
00:21:59.600 up.
00:22:01.200 I don’t even know if it’s a world
00:22:02.480 record, but who else to try to quote
00:22:04.080 scripture really, really, really,
00:22:05.120 really, really fast.
00:22:05.679 >> Well, let’s put that up. And it’s a
00:22:06.880 challenge.
00:22:07.200 >> Okay, we’re going to put the time.
00:22:08.080 >> I want to know who can beat you.
00:22:09.440 >> Okay, I was not prepared for this, by
00:22:11.200 the way, just so you know. I have not
00:22:12.720 done this in a hot minute, but that’s
00:22:14.960 when you write God’s word in your heart,
00:22:16.159 you’re it’s you’re always prepared.
00:22:17.520 You’re always ready. So, I got
00:22:19.120 >> Are we going to time it?
00:22:20.000 >> Yeah, we’re going to get a timer on with
00:22:21.280 our guy in the back. Oh, yeah. No, we
00:22:23.120 we’ll throw it on the screen, I’m sure.
00:22:25.120 >> Can you do the timer, Aaron? Let us know
00:22:26.720 when a minute 20’s up.
00:22:28.400 >> All right. or you just do it just so we
00:22:30.080 can see if we got it. But we’ll put it
00:22:31.360 on the screen, too.
00:22:32.640 >> Tell us when to go. Give us the thumbs
00:22:34.320 up. Three,
00:22:36.480 >> two,
00:22:36.960 >> two, one, go.
00:22:38.880 >> James, the servant of God, the Lord
00:22:40.080 Jesus Christ of the 12 tribes scattered
00:22:41.520 among the nations. Greetings. Consider
00:22:42.799 it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,
00:22:43.919 whenever you face trials of many kinds
00:22:45.200 because you know the testing your faith
00:22:46.080 develops perseverance. Perseverance must
00:22:47.679 finish his works so you can be mature
00:22:48.799 and complete, not lacking anything. If
00:22:50.159 any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask
00:22:51.520 God, who gives generously to all without
00:22:52.720 finding fault, and it will be given to
00:22:53.840 you. But you must believe and not doubt.
00:22:55.120 Because he who doubts like a wave of the
00:22:56.480 sea blown and tossed by the wind, that
00:22:57.919 person won’t receive anything from the
00:22:59.120 Lord. They’re double-minded, unstable in
00:23:00.480 what they do. A brother in humble
00:23:01.760 circumstances that I take pride in his
00:23:03.120 high position, but the one who is uh
00:23:04.799 rich, I’ll take pride in his
00:23:05.760 humiliation. For the uh grass will
00:23:07.600 wither, the flowers will fade, but the
00:23:09.679 uh and the rich will fade, but whoever
00:23:11.120 does a will of God will lives forever.
00:23:12.400 Blessed is the one who perseveres under
00:23:13.679 trust. When they stood the test, they
00:23:14.960 receive the crown of life that God has
00:23:16.159 promised to those who love him. When
00:23:17.440 tempted, no one should say, "God is
00:23:18.400 tempted." Me, for God cannot be tempted
00:23:19.520 by evil, nor does God tempt anyone. Each
00:23:21.120 one is then tempted by their own evil
00:23:22.480 desires taken away and enticed. Then
00:23:24.559 after desire conceive, he gives birth to
00:23:25.919 sin. And sin when it’s full grown gives
00:23:27.280 birth to death. Do not be deceived, my
00:23:28.559 dear brothers and sisters. Every perfect
00:23:29.840 gift that comes down from above, coming
00:23:31.120 down from the father of the heavenly
00:23:32.480 lights, he does not change like shifting
00:23:33.600 shadows. He chose to give his birth
00:23:34.640 through the word of truth that we might
00:23:35.760 by a kind of first fruits of all he
00:23:37.200 created. Everyone should be quick to
00:23:38.480 listen, slow to speak, and slow to
00:23:39.760 become angry. For man’s anger does not
00:23:41.200 bring about the righteous life desires.
00:23:42.640 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth
00:23:44.000 and evil that is so prevalent and humbly
00:23:45.600 accept the word of God that is in you
00:23:46.799 which can save you. Don’t merely listen
00:23:47.919 to God’s word and so deceive yourself.
00:23:49.280 Do what it says. Anyone who listens to
00:23:50.799 the word and does not do what it says is
00:23:52.080 like a person that looks at their face
00:23:53.039 in the mirror and after they look at
00:23:54.080 themselves, they go away and they
00:23:55.039 immediately forget what they look like.
00:23:56.320 But the one who looks intently into
00:23:57.360 God’s perfect law that gives freedom
00:23:58.480 continues to do it, not forgetting what
00:23:59.440 they’ve heard by doing it, they’ll be
00:24:00.559 blessed in what they do. Religion that
00:24:01.679 God our father accept is pure and
00:24:02.799 faultless is this. To look down for
00:24:03.840 orphans and widows in their distress, to
00:24:05.120 keep oneself being polluted by the
00:24:06.240 world. Boom.
00:24:07.120 >> That was amazing.
00:24:08.320 >> 127.
00:24:09.440 >> Beautiful.
00:24:10.080 >> Do a verse for 127. Now
00:24:11.600 >> James 127. It’s James 127. That’s how
00:24:14.080 many verses I just quoted. So it’s like
00:24:15.840 almost a verse per minute. See what I’m
00:24:18.080 saying? Yeah. So James 1:27, religion
00:24:20.480 that God our father accepts as pure and
00:24:22.799 faultless is this to look after orphans
00:24:24.880 and widows in their distress and to keep
00:24:26.960 oneself being polluted by the world.
00:24:29.120 That’s the verse for
00:24:30.880 >> one of the things that I I just I so
00:24:33.600 love, Gordon, is that you meet so many
00:24:36.480 people throughout the day and do their
00:24:38.320 their birthday Bible verse and you’ll
00:24:41.679 meet them again a month later, a year
00:24:44.640 later. You may not remember their name.
00:24:46.720 You probably don’t remember their name,
00:24:48.240 but you do remember their their
00:24:49.919 birthday. You know, everybody’s birthday
00:24:52.320 that you’ve come in contact with and you
00:24:54.159 call it out to them and I’ve seen you do
00:24:56.400 it again and again and again. It’s
00:24:58.000 really amazing.
00:24:59.200 >> So, God gave me obviously he gave me a
00:25:01.600 gift and so I’m trying to make it uh
00:25:03.600 digestible for other people to start
00:25:04.960 learning how to do it and take it at
00:25:06.240 their own. So, one of I have a bunch of
00:25:08.240 games. I have a bunch of tricks. I have
00:25:09.520 a bunch of challenges. God just starts
00:25:10.960 revealing. One of mine is doing that
00:25:13.679 with people. So in my phone, your name’s
00:25:16.320 Ken 228. So when you every time you text
00:25:18.799 me, I’m reinforcing it. It’s 8:10. Aaron
00:25:21.919 is 612. And but I don’t even need That’s
00:25:25.120 just an extra. So you could start doing
00:25:26.480 little things like that.
00:25:27.840 >> That’s smart. So you see it every time.
00:25:30.240 >> Every time you text me, it reinforces
00:25:32.640 it.
00:25:33.039 >> I love that.
00:25:33.760 >> But I don’t people that only have phone
00:25:35.440 numbers to, I still do it. So I still do
00:25:36.880 it the other way where I just know it
00:25:38.400 and go with it. But that’s just a cool I
00:25:40.480 like to give all my little secrets cuz
00:25:41.840 I’m It’s not about me knowing and
00:25:43.200 looking real cool. No.
00:25:44.320 >> So you guys learning how to do it, too.
00:25:45.919 So if you’re like, "Oh, 8:10. Nehemiah
00:25:48.720 8:10 is your wife’s birthday." And it
00:25:50.080 says, "Today is holy to the Lord. Do not
00:25:51.919 grieve for the joy of the Lord is our
00:25:53.840 strength." That’s your birthday. What if
00:25:55.120 you could every time you see her, the
00:25:56.240 joy of the Lord is my strength. You just
00:25:57.440 see her that you just go, "The joy of"
00:25:59.039 and she’s a joyous person. So when you
00:26:00.320 see her, she brings you joy as your
00:26:01.600 marriage. She
00:26:02.159 >> sure does.
00:26:02.720 >> So Nehemiah 8:10, the joy of the Lord is
00:26:05.600 my strength as well. You know what I
00:26:06.799 mean? So keep that first. So you see her
00:26:08.880 you you have this I call it making a
00:26:10.880 memory with a memory verse and you won’t
00:26:13.679 forget it
00:26:14.720 >> and you do that with people and uh God
00:26:17.360 says to love our neighbor as oursel
00:26:20.320 and we love our birthday so I should
00:26:22.799 love my neighbor’s birthday that’s what
00:26:23.919 the Lord told me one day love my
00:26:25.440 neighbor’s birthday cuz I love my love
00:26:27.760 my neighbor like I love I love my
00:26:29.120 birthday I can’t wait to party on my
00:26:30.480 birthday actually funny story I’m the
00:26:33.520 birthday Bible verse guy I actually have
00:26:35.120 I’m going to do a little trivia for you
00:26:36.320 if you don’t mind But I have a famous
00:26:38.400 song for my birthday.
00:26:39.360 >> I know it.
00:26:40.480 >> Do you?
00:26:41.120 >> I know it.
00:26:42.000 >> Yep.
00:26:42.880 >> Do you remember
00:26:45.360 >> the 21st night September?
00:26:48.159 >> Earth, Wind, and Fire.
00:26:50.400 >> I have a famous song for my birthday.
00:26:52.480 >> And one of your favorite words is
00:26:54.320 >> catch that fire.
00:26:56.880 >> So, Earth, Wind, and Fire is amazing.
00:27:00.320 >> Yeah.
00:27:00.720 >> And that’s I got my own birthday song.
00:27:02.159 And I didn’t It came out two years
00:27:03.600 before I was born. And I’m known as the
00:27:05.520 birthday Bible verse guy. and all social
00:27:07.039 media. So, it’s like God was like,
00:27:08.640 "Dude, I’m going to give this dude a
00:27:09.840 birthday gift that’s just going to blow
00:27:11.039 the world away." And another, you know,
00:27:13.440 it just everywhere I go, there’s a
00:27:16.240 possibility of some blessing to happen
00:27:18.080 cuz everyone has a birthday. I’m
00:27:20.159 actually speaking in a prison coming up.
00:27:22.159 Uh I go, it’s with alongside ministries
00:27:25.600 and we do salvation. We preach the
00:27:27.840 gospel. We love it. But I teach tricks
00:27:29.200 and traits how to memorize because
00:27:30.400 you’re in jail. You have nothing but
00:27:31.520 time. And I give you verses for your
00:27:34.559 dorm room number. I give verses for your
00:27:37.679 your number in jail. And then I’m also
00:27:40.080 there’s a prayer line. There’s like
00:27:41.679 people accepting Christ or needing
00:27:43.279 prayer. And then there’s a hundred
00:27:44.720 people in this line needing their
00:27:46.080 birthday verse.
00:27:47.520 >> The Lord.
00:27:48.080 >> So Gordon, I have a question. With you
00:27:49.679 having diabetes, do you get to eat cake
00:27:51.679 and ice cream at these birthday parties?
00:27:56.720 >> So someone’s going to have you there?
00:27:58.320 >> Yes. I feel cuz I feel rude if I don’t
00:27:59.919 eat cuz I I love to like Yeah, I want to
00:28:02.320 eat. And so I’ll take I’ll take it. I’ll
00:28:04.960 take a bite and then throw the rest. I
00:28:06.559 can’t eat a lot of cake, so I will, but
00:28:08.799 I don’t eat a lot.
00:28:09.520 >> Can you eat sugar-free?
00:28:11.039 >> Yeah, I just have to monitor carbs and
00:28:14.240 sugar. Your, if you don’t know anything
00:28:15.840 about diabetes, your pancreas stopped
00:28:17.440 working. My pancreas, the Lord says,
00:28:20.159 don’t hate anything. I hate my pancreas.
00:28:22.480 My pancreas is terrible. I always tell
00:28:25.120 people if you if you if you’re eating
00:28:26.799 sugar, anything, thank God for your
00:28:28.880 pancreas. go ahead and say a quick
00:28:30.559 prayer because if you don’t have one now
00:28:33.679 you’re like me and you have diabetes so
00:28:36.080 I have to watch everything I eat. So not
00:28:38.159 that I’m perfect but I’ll eat a little
00:28:39.919 bit then throw it away. But I love
00:28:42.399 sugar-free stuff. So I try to find
00:28:43.760 sugar-free everywhere I go. Like I just
00:28:45.600 found my favorite Starbucks drink and
00:28:47.120 it’s there’s a sugarree. There’s a
00:28:48.320 little sugar in it but it’s like so it’s
00:28:50.559 just got to balance your whole life and
00:28:52.399 it just causes medical issues. You
00:28:54.880 actually called me yesterday. You know
00:28:56.799 what my blood sugar was? 62.
00:28:59.840 Galatians 6:2 says, "Carry each other’s
00:29:01.760 burdens and this you fulfill the law of
00:29:03.360 Christ." That’s what time you called me
00:29:04.480 to be on the podcast. And I was like,
00:29:06.240 "Stay on the phone so I don’t pass out
00:29:07.760 right now by myself."
00:29:10.159 So, there’s always I give you a birthday
00:29:12.559 Bible vers. I give you diabetes
00:29:14.480 scriptures for your diabetes scripture.
00:29:16.559 >> We got a blood sugar Bible verse.
00:29:18.080 >> There’s a whole other version of the
00:29:19.520 Bible.
00:29:20.000 >> We’re going to be we’re going to be
00:29:21.840 turning license plate, jersey numbers, t
00:29:24.000 everything into scripture. And that’s
00:29:26.080 how I stay positive because there’s can
00:29:27.760 I tell you a study that I heard uh I
00:29:29.600 didn’t come up with it but this uh
00:29:31.200 famous Christian organization
00:29:34.080 uh the center of ba Bible engagement did
00:29:36.960 this uh crazy study of 10,000 Christians
00:29:39.760 they said how much you engage the Bible
00:29:42.080 a week and what does it do for you?
00:29:43.600 That’s what they they did 10,000
00:29:45.360 Christians between the ages of 9 and 80
00:29:47.440 years old. 10,000 people they pulled you
00:29:50.320 engaging the Bible what does it do for
00:29:52.799 you? And it was fascinating. the
00:29:55.360 response to what all the people said. So
00:29:57.520 if you only engage the Bible once a
00:29:59.440 week, nothing really changed. You only
00:30:01.840 go to church once a week, you read your
00:30:03.279 Bible once a week, you only are in God’s
00:30:05.440 presence like once a week, they said
00:30:06.880 there was no change for the 10,000
00:30:08.399 people. If you only engage the Bible two
00:30:10.720 times a week, however you engage the
00:30:12.399 Bible through fellowship with friends,
00:30:14.320 going to church, Bible study, whatever,
00:30:16.559 nothing changed in their life. When you
00:30:18.480 start engaging three the Bible three
00:30:20.559 times a week, there was a little blip on
00:30:22.399 the map. they saw positive things
00:30:23.840 starting be but once it was four it went
00:30:26.000 off the charts like you know an archo
00:30:27.840 you know the heart thing where it’s like
00:30:30.320 it went off the charts if you engage the
00:30:32.000 Bible four times a week that it said
00:30:34.399 that pornography went down 59% alcohol
00:30:36.960 went down 61% loneliness went down 30%.
00:30:39.840 All these negative things started going
00:30:41.679 down for these 10,000 people. Amazing.
00:30:43.679 >> And all the positive things like you
00:30:45.520 sharing your faith and discipling others
00:30:47.360 went up 230%. If you engage the Bible
00:30:51.600 four times a week and my friends with
00:30:54.720 hope and numbers, I engage the Bible 400
00:30:57.600 times a day. B minimum. And so why do I
00:31:01.120 have the joy? I’m not better than you. I
00:31:03.440 just know the word real well. So every
00:31:05.440 number is triggering scripture of hope
00:31:07.760 and encouragement and what to do. When I
00:31:10.000 wake up in the morning, it’s a
00:31:11.520 scripture. Get out of bed is calling my
00:31:13.679 name. I look at the time. I’m like, get
00:31:15.360 out of bed. I get up at 6:33. Seek first
00:31:18.240 the kingdom of God. When my feet hit the
00:31:19.760 ground up, my alarm goes off. 6:33 every
00:31:21.840 morning. Matthew, seek first the
00:31:23.679 kingdom. So you can set your alarms.
00:31:26.399 There’s a creative way to do it. Set
00:31:27.679 your alarms. When you get up, if you get
00:31:29.120 up at 6:30, get up at 6:33. Just 3
00:31:31.679 minutes later. Well, I have got to say
00:31:33.360 that you didn’t get up at 6:33 when we
00:31:35.760 were at that uh rental house cuz you can
00:31:38.480 beat you at pool and you laid in bed
00:31:41.120 depressed cuz you lost.
00:31:42.960 >> True.
00:31:44.720 >> True.
00:31:45.200 >> You’re slightly
00:31:46.720 >> No. So I my alarm
00:31:48.320 >> 11:00 and and you’re like why didn’t you
00:31:50.720 we we thought is Gordon alive? Like
00:31:52.720 >> no. So my alarm did go off at 6:33 but I
00:31:55.279 was in depression so I hit snooze and
00:31:58.000 then I didn’t have an alarm after that.
00:31:59.600 So whenever you woke me up,
00:32:01.440 >> but every morning at least goes off. I’m
00:32:03.440 not saying I get up every time at 6:30.
00:32:05.200 Sometimes, you know,
00:32:06.640 >> you you have a day of rest,
00:32:08.559 >> especially when you lose to Ken.
00:32:12.000 >> Cuz Gordon here, Gordon here,
00:32:15.519 >> keep going. Let’s talk about that a
00:32:16.960 couple more times while he’s here.
00:32:19.519 >> Gordon here though,
00:32:20.720 >> one of the most competitive guys that I
00:32:22.640 know, honestly.
00:32:23.760 >> But let’s say it. You have a $100 bill
00:32:25.919 in your pocket if someone would like to
00:32:27.440 try and beat you at ping pong. Yes.
00:32:29.200 >> And we have a ping pong table at Tones
00:32:31.279 and Bones.
00:32:32.159 >> Yes.
00:32:32.480 >> And no one has yet to beat Gordon yet
00:32:34.399 for that $100.
00:32:35.679 >> Oh, if you want, I could pull up my
00:32:37.279 record with me and Ken because I have it
00:32:38.960 on my phone.
00:32:40.880 >> So, I’ve never lost in pingpong and me.
00:32:44.320 So, I start keeping track with people
00:32:45.600 that I play with on the regular. Me and
00:32:47.039 Ken, we play all the time. I am
00:32:51.120 17 and0 against Ken Gerber.
00:32:54.640 >> The other guy that works for us, his
00:32:56.080 name is Gabe the Babe. I am 7 and0
00:32:58.880 against him. I went to youth camp. I’m
00:33:01.600 250 and0. And I’m not it’s not I’m not
00:33:04.799 humble break. God gave me a gift. Bible
00:33:07.279 memorization and ping pong. If you want
00:33:09.360 to meet me at Tones and Bones, I want to
00:33:11.440 challenge you to come to Tones and
00:33:12.720 Bones. If you come and beat me on my own
00:33:14.880 table at the facility, I will give you a
00:33:17.200 $100 bill. I want to lose. Good luck.
00:33:20.080 I’ve got two gifts: Bible memorization
00:33:21.919 and ping pong. I only have one weakness
00:33:24.080 and I can’t tell you what it is. I would
00:33:25.519 love to see you there. Come check out
00:33:26.960 some of our
00:33:27.440 >> What is it? I want to know your
00:33:28.720 weakness. Gordon is kryptonite. Oh, I
00:33:31.039 know what it is.
00:33:32.000 >> Diabetes. Well, my sugar gets low.
00:33:33.600 >> It’s blackjack.
00:33:35.519 >> Oh, blackjack.
00:33:38.399 >> Oh, this is just coming to me now.
00:33:40.640 >> That’s Jack’s birthday. 21 is Jack’s
00:33:42.480 birthday.
00:33:43.279 >> But the verse says if you don’t hold on
00:33:45.279 to God’s truth carefully, you could
00:33:46.640 drift from God’s truth. You could drift
00:33:48.480 away from it. You may.
00:33:50.960 >> So that’s if I’ve ever stumbled
00:33:52.799 blackjack. I’ve ever stumbled.
00:33:54.399 >> Don’t take a hit on a 12, 13, or 14 when
00:33:57.039 the dealer is showing
00:33:58.480 >> the truth. Stick to the truth. It’ll set
00:34:00.320 you a free. But part of my testimony,
00:34:03.039 I’ve never drank in my life. I’ve never
00:34:04.640 done a drug in my whole life. Honest to
00:34:06.720 God, God is my witness. I never uh had
00:34:09.119 sex outside of marriage. So, I was
00:34:10.560 married. And then, but everyone’s got
00:34:13.199 something they do on the side, you know,
00:34:14.480 something that
00:34:14.879 >> you sound like you hadn’t had sex
00:34:16.000 outside of marriage until you were
00:34:17.359 married.
00:34:17.760 >> Holy cow. Hold on one second. Give us a
00:34:19.918 give us a verse. My Oh my goodness. Oh,
00:34:23.839 it’s about humility. I’m not joking.
00:34:27.199 23. So, my sugar is 203 right now.
00:34:30.000 Philipp what I use for being humble in
00:34:31.918 ping pong or trying to be humble and let
00:34:33.599 it says this. Don’t do nothing out of
00:34:35.760 selfish ambition but in vacancy consider
00:34:37.760 people other better than yourself. So, I
00:34:40.000 try to let people win except for ping
00:34:41.520 pong because so that might be your pool.
00:34:43.760 I’m going to let you win. But hey,
00:34:45.520 >> did you let him win?
00:34:46.639 >> I can’t tell you about that.
00:34:48.879 No, no. He He was so upset. There’s no
00:34:52.320 way he’d let me win it, fool. And if you
00:34:54.879 think he did, we’ll play again.
00:34:56.800 >> But the verse says, "Let other people
00:34:59.359 think they’re better than yourself." So,
00:35:00.480 it’s a way to be humble. That’s the
00:35:01.760 verse I use. It’s my blood sugar right
00:35:03.200 now. Kind of fire. Okay. What were we
00:35:05.119 saying? So, I didn’t actually I didn’t
00:35:06.880 have sex till I was married. I don’t
00:35:08.079 know how I said it. Maybe I said it
00:35:09.520 wrong, but I literally didn’t have sex.
00:35:11.760 >> I was teasing you.
00:35:12.800 >> Okay, cool.
00:35:13.200 >> It sounded like you didn’t have sex
00:35:14.640 until you were married. Until you were
00:35:16.079 married, then you had sex outside. I
00:35:18.320 might have said it wrong. So if I did, I
00:35:19.680 apologize. No, no, I did not do that
00:35:21.599 either.
00:35:24.480 But I want to give you So I’m not trying
00:35:26.240 to sound perfect here because we all
00:35:27.359 have. So my if I do stumble, gambling
00:35:30.560 has been an addiction for mine and I got
00:35:32.400 to watch it and have accountability and
00:35:34.320 all that stuff. So no one’s ever
00:35:35.599 perfect. So anyways.
00:35:36.720 >> Right. Right. Yeah. Tell us, can you
00:35:39.119 think of a very awkward time where
00:35:41.680 you’ve approached somebody and said,
00:35:44.000 "Tell me your birthday."
00:35:45.680 >> An awkward time. Yeah. Okay. Okay, I got
00:35:47.520 one. The first one that comes to mind,
00:35:49.520 so I was on the news. I was on 35
00:35:51.200 channel news and they were interviewing
00:35:52.560 me and it was they just love what we’re
00:35:54.560 doing. I was like, "Cool, let’s go table
00:35:57.280 to table and just ask random people,
00:35:58.880 strangers about
00:36:01.040 scripture." And I was uh kind of
00:36:03.680 terrified because it was at the
00:36:05.119 beginning of like I do it. It’s easy for
00:36:07.280 friends and church people, right? But
00:36:08.800 you’re going to go to people you don’t
00:36:09.680 know. What if they’re atheists? What if
00:36:10.880 they believe the opposite that what we
00:36:12.880 believe? You know, you could think of
00:36:14.079 like
00:36:14.880 >> there’s people out there
00:36:16.960 And I walk up to someone and I go, hey,
00:36:19.040 is it cool? I’m on the news. We’re live,
00:36:22.720 can I give you a birthday? And they’re
00:36:24.000 like, I’m atheist. I’m like,
00:36:26.640 awesome. Let me give you a like, it was
00:36:28.240 awkward, but I just felt awkward. Like,
00:36:30.320 I know you don’t believe in God, but I’m
00:36:31.839 about to give you a verse. And they go,
00:36:34.320 sure, whatever. You know, I’m like, they
00:36:36.640 had their fingernails painted as well.
00:36:38.240 So, I was just like I was kind of scared
00:36:39.440 of these people. Like, it just someone I
00:36:41.440 wouldn’t go on like where I was awkward
00:36:43.760 because I thought they would hate what I
00:36:44.960 was doing. Yeah,
00:36:46.000 >> there’s a dude. I was like, "Hey, your
00:36:47.760 birthday’s 11:4." Ecclesiastes 11:4
00:36:50.240 says, "If you wait for perfect
00:36:51.359 conditions, you’ll never get it done."
00:36:53.040 Listen to that verse. If you wait for a
00:36:54.960 perfect condition, you’re never going to
00:36:56.240 do it. Just think about that in your own
00:36:57.680 life. How true is that verse? The
00:36:59.520 atheist goes, "That is so true." I go,
00:37:01.599 "The word of God is true, my friend."
00:37:03.440 And I walked away. But it was so another
00:37:06.160 It actually fit really well.
00:37:07.680 >> Yeah.
00:37:08.079 >> And they clipped out when the guy, it’s
00:37:10.400 actually on the news, that verse, me
00:37:12.480 getting tested on the verse live. like
00:37:14.240 the girl walk. So just that parts on
00:37:16.560 where I quote the verse, it doesn’t get
00:37:17.760 me like the guy’s an atheist and what
00:37:19.599 they look like to intimidate. So I was
00:37:21.359 like I was just nervous cuz you know
00:37:24.079 people could reject you immediately.
00:37:26.000 That was one awkward time. But a lot of
00:37:28.160 my responses are they cry when I tell
00:37:30.400 them or they’re like here here’s one
00:37:32.880 thing I can tell. Not that this is just
00:37:35.359 a I’m a friendly de uh evaluating people
00:37:37.839 because I don’t want to waste my time.
00:37:40.240 uh if I’m telling you about my ministry
00:37:41.839 after I give you a birthday and you I
00:37:43.680 could tell you don’t like it. I’m not
00:37:44.880 going to sit there for an hour with you,
00:37:46.400 right? If I could and that’s how I could
00:37:48.240 tell if you uh can value my ministry and
00:37:50.560 it’s not if you don’t it’s totally cool.
00:37:52.000 I’m not mad. But you’ll spend time and
00:37:53.760 ask follow-up questions
00:37:56.160 >> and how can I follow you? You know, if
00:37:57.920 you’re just like I give you a birthday
00:37:59.920 like oh that’s cool
00:38:01.520 >> and you could care less. I could tell
00:38:04.000 >> you don’t get what I’m doing. Move
00:38:05.599 >> on to the next person.
00:38:06.320 >> Just move on. And it’s not maybe you
00:38:08.400 don’t even just value. You don’t know
00:38:09.440 what I just did for like I’m This is
00:38:11.440 real powerful, man. Like if
00:38:13.119 >> people that love it, I’ll talk to them
00:38:14.400 for three hours in the parking lot, you
00:38:16.079 know, and stuff. So,
00:38:17.119 >> it’s great.
00:38:17.839 >> Yeah. So, Hope and Numbers is turning
00:38:20.000 every number in the world into scripture
00:38:21.760 and it’s a blast. So, we got the app
00:38:24.640 out. Everyone’s got to download the app.
00:38:26.320 The app is going to give you a verse for
00:38:28.960 every minute, every day. There’s a
00:38:31.440 community wall with no ads. It’s it’s uh
00:38:34.079 free to download. There is an upgrade
00:38:36.880 for the we have a 40-hour master class
00:38:38.880 in there. It’s 28 episodes. There’s
00:38:41.119 flashcards. There’s challenges and
00:38:42.880 games. And we’re going to be adding more
00:38:44.800 to it.
00:38:45.520 >> And so all they have to do is look up
00:38:47.040 hope and numbers at the app store.
00:38:49.280 >> Yes.
00:38:49.920 >> And if people want to get in touch with
00:38:51.920 you, how can they do that? How can they
00:38:54.320 follow your ministry?
00:38:55.599 >> Everything is hope in numbers. We can
00:38:58.160 even put my phone number on here because
00:38:59.520 I give it to everybody and it, you know,
00:39:01.839 I do birthday parties all the time.
00:39:05.440 Oh my gosh, you’re like a robot beeping
00:39:07.839 all the time. What does it say now?
00:39:09.200 >> 2:6. Colossians 2:6. Just as you receive
00:39:11.440 Christ as Lord, continue to live in him,
00:39:13.520 be rooted and built up and strengthen
00:39:15.520 your faith as you were taught,
00:39:16.560 overflowing with thankfulness.
00:39:18.079 >> February 6 was the first day we ever
00:39:20.320 talked.
00:39:21.280 >> 2608.
00:39:22.800 >> Boom. Can I give you another verse that
00:39:24.560 God just gave me revelation? This could
00:39:26.000 be this could be a oneliner. I’ll do it
00:39:27.440 in a minute. So, we Dude, God gave me
00:39:29.200 this recently. It’s two It’s my blood
00:39:31.280 sugar right now is 206. Proverbs 20:6
00:39:36.160 says, "Many friends claim to have
00:39:38.720 unfailing love for you, but a faithful
00:39:40.960 friend who can find and God gave me this
00:39:43.920 the other day. Environment, the word
00:39:45.440 environment, the center of it says iron
00:39:47.359 men." So the center of your environment
00:39:50.320 should be iron men. Iron sharpens iron
00:39:52.560 and women. And then I drew this thing
00:39:54.400 like a funnel under it. I can even send
00:39:57.200 you the picture. So there’s it’s a
00:39:58.640 funnel. So many men claim to have
00:40:00.240 unfailing love. Proverbs 20:6. That’s my
00:40:02.720 blood sugar right now. But a funnel goes
00:40:05.280 down. There’s only a few people the
00:40:06.560 verse says that are actually faithful
00:40:08.000 friends. And if you saw this picture, I
00:40:10.240 just drew it and then came up with the
00:40:11.680 verse after the revelation I had. There
00:40:14.400 was three different things in one
00:40:15.680 minute. And that’s how it happens to me.
00:40:17.520 Galatians 1:12 says, uh, Paul says
00:40:20.079 there’s no human revelation. I received
00:40:21.520 this. It was direct revelation from
00:40:22.880 Jesus Christ. Environment, the center of
00:40:25.200 it says, "Iron man. I draw this funnel."
00:40:27.760 Proverbs 20:6, which is my blood sugar
00:40:29.839 right now, says, "Many people claim at
00:40:31.920 the top of the funnel to be your
00:40:33.520 friend." But there’s only a few that are
00:40:35.119 real good friends. And that’s what this
00:40:37.359 picture shows that I I drew it out and
00:40:39.280 the verse went with it. And that’s my
00:40:40.560 blood sugar right now. That see how you
00:40:42.320 just made a memory with a memory verse.
00:40:43.680 If you if you do that for yourself or
00:40:45.119 stuff that’s important to you, you’ll
00:40:46.320 remember it. For the law firm,
00:40:48.320 >> let’s just say there’s a law. There’s
00:40:49.680 numbers and they’re all law, right?
00:40:51.280 >> Sure.
00:40:51.680 >> Let’s just say there’s 54 verse 17.
00:40:53.680 You’re like, "No weapon formed against
00:40:55.359 me will prosper." What if there’s like
00:40:56.800 something like that?
00:40:57.280 >> All right, I got to start doing that.
00:40:58.240 I’ll start to pay attention to the
00:40:59.680 statute numbers when I look at it.
00:41:00.960 >> Yeah, look at it and give it a verse
00:41:02.240 that it’ll help you remember it. It’ll
00:41:04.160 go with it. And I I wanted to ask you
00:41:06.240 guys, do you have a verse for your your
00:41:08.560 this podcast? You guys have a theme
00:41:10.960 verse?
00:41:11.760 >> No.
